Convenient Location - Excellent Service
Farid – a special mention to Farid at the Reception. He provided an excellent service - “beyond the call of duty”. Our family selected Baguss City Hotel which is conveniently located across the street from JB CitySquare. Our rooms were compact. But there was no “noise leak” from neighbours. First, we detected musty smell. But, turning up the AC solved the issue. The rooms and bathrooms were recently refurbished. They were clean and comfortable. Room Wifi was good. Breakfast was simple but has a variety for a family to select. Overall, we are happy with the hotel.

The bathroom and room are cleaned. I like the clean and new bedspread. A kettle, two mugs, two water bottles and sachet of coffee are given. Two face towel are given too. Free car park. Cons : no mini-fridge, the TV channels are not that clear. However, fret not if the room to be used only for having a good rest after busy sight seeing during day time. Food supply can be bought from JBCC and City Square JB, just across the hotel. Rooms for improvement breakfast. Hot porridge should be ready by 6.30am. We came down by 7.15am...yet the bowl of porridge is still at room temperature. Overall, a good stay right in the middle of the JB town.

Ur service sucks
Our last night and checking out early morning we didnt have ringgit left and lazy enough to go out and change money we wanted to order for coca cola ×2.so i called reception a guy answered at around 9:45pm on sept 2 and says yes i can charge to the room so he gave me number to the poseidon restaurant so i can order.i asked the room service guy again to make sure and proceed with the order..the order came and asked for RM16.45 for 2glass of coke with tons of ice.i nicely tell the guy to charge to the room then he say cannot.then i call frontdesk again and the lady answered and says he dont know why his colleague says that and that they cant pay for us.ei lady,i never asked u to pay for me!! We asked the guy to give it back cause we dont have cash and spoiled our mood!IF U WILL HIRE PEOPLE LIKE THE SHORT AND PLUM LADY IN FRONTDESK U WILL LOSE BUSINESS. Staying here for 3 days and everytime i see her talking to customer is like she shoulders the problem of the world.dont treat and talk to ur customers like we owe u something...there are flies in ur breakfast buffet and some insects near the door on the soup area..ill make sure none of the people i know will come to this place.i hope u lose business soon.cheers

Good value for money if short stay
Service is great, very friendly staff. Rooms are clean and utilities in-room are well-functioning (we stayed in a deluxe room but I think it'd be worth the little extra spend on a studio suite). It gets a bit noisy at night with the 24hr motorcycle workshop operating at ground level (we were on 15th floor and still could hear some toots and hoots but did not last long to disrupt our sleep, fortunately) A modest but sufficient breakfast is served every morning. Parking is free to guests, though it is quite a tight parking space. Mall is right across the street and literally less than 5min walk to the entrance (Komtar JBCC and JBSC). Along the street to the mall are many local f&b outlets too, if mall food is not your thing. Be cautious as there are quite a number of immigrants in the area. Mostly harmless, but do be alert at all times. Conclusion: Good value for money if on short stay, not recommended for more than 2 nights unless completely necessary. Bonus info: Walk to the back and past the hotel's parking entrance, then go up the street a little and you'll come across a "kedai tuak awam" that sells tody/coconut wine for about MYR3.00 per mug. Not a must-see, but do recommend foreigners or locals who have never tried it to make a quick visit and have a taste.

Quite okay for 2 night stay
The room and the bathroom are clean when I check in. Everything look nice. As I am staying alone, so it might be not a problem but the bathroom door can't be lock because the lock are broken. The breakfast buffet, even tho it is small but have a lot of varieties in my opinion. The Nasi Goreng is delicious. So far so good. I don't really have a major problem staying here.
