Pantai Cahaya Bulan is one of the most famous beaches located in Kelantan Darul Naim, Malaysia. It is located 10 kilometres from Kota Bharu, the capital city and royal seat of Kelantan. This 1.2-kilometre long coast was a landing area of the Japanese Army to attack the British in 1941. This beach was previously known as Pantai Cinta Berahi, a name that a British soldier gave in World War II period. At that time, he was suffering because his love was difficult. Some locals still prefer this name and some refer to this beach as PCB. The beach is popular for its long and wide area along with fine sand and clear water. Lined with Casuarinas and coconut trees, it has become a favoured picnic spot amongst locals and outsiders especially on weekends. Visitors are prohibited to swim due to the strong waves but they can do other activities like flying kites and fishing.

How to Get There

To get to the destination, you can travel by land from Kota Bharu via Jalan Pengkalan Chepa/Route 57, the fastest route, in 28 minutes only. You can also travel via Jalan Pantai Cahaya Bulan/Route 233 which would take you approximately 31 minutes to reach to the destination. By air, you can choose to take domestic flight from Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, Firefly or Malindo Air to Sultan Ismail Petra Airport.
