The room was spacious, clean and comfy! They even upgraded us to Premier Cliff Bay Suite room. I requested for an anniversary bed arrangement and that too, was awesome! They gave us cute anniversary cake as a bonus. Definitely will come again after the monsoon. Thanks Taaras.

The photos on the site are very misleading. This is not really a resort or hotel. It 's a few rooms in the middle of nowhere. The beach is very far away and you cannot walk it down. Absolutely no service and when you arrive the owner gives you the keys and after that, there is no communication. You just leave with the keys in the room. Very ordinary room with no service at all.

About

Redang Island one of the well-known, beautiful islands in the country. Located in the state Terengganu, Redang Island is actually a part of the Redang Marine Park, an archipelago that has a total of nine islands in it. The Redang Island is popular among local and foreign tourists because of its crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches and beautiful reefs. The Redang Island is located just about 45 kilometres off the coast of Terengganu, and it caters to a higher end market with the accommodation available are mostly resorts.

How to Get There

By Plane

This is the easiest way to go to the Redang Island. There is a small airstrip on the island for Berjaya Air that operates a direct flight to Redang from Kuala Lumpur and also Changi Airport in Singapore. If flying from Kuala Lumpur, you have to take the flight from Subang Airport and the ticket will cost around RM 526 for a return trip and if taking a flight from Singapore, the ticket will be somewhere around a thousand ringgit return. The airstrip is near to Kampung Jetty and for those who would be staying in Berjaya Resort, there will be a bus waiting to bring the passengers to the resort. For other resorts, they will have to take boats to go to their respective places.

By Ferry

There are two jetties in the state of Terengganu that have scheduled ferries services to go to Redang Island. The Shahbandar jetty in Kuala Terengganu is the only one that has a public ferry that goes back and forth to Kampung Jetty in Redang. With a ticket price at RM50 per one way for an adult, and half of the price for children. The Merang jetty, located about 40 kilometres away from Kuala Terengganu, usually is for most of the resorts on the Redang Island. These resorts have their own ferry services to bring their customers to the island with the fees usually already included in the price of the room. Do check before you purchase a ferry ticket to go to Redang Island. Also, do not forget to check the schedule for any ferries services that you want to take as they are not available for twenty-four hours. The ferry trips from both jetties take at least two hours to get to the island. If you could not make by the scheduled time of the ferries, there are boats available for charter. This will cost RM500 per boat, or RM50 per person if there are enough people to take fill the boatload.

Tourist Attractions

Marine Park Centre

Established in the year 1990, this Marine Park Centre is located at Pulau Pinang, the southern tip of the Redang Island. It is first of its kind, and acts as the focal point of administration, management, and also facilitates in research and educations for the marine park. This Centre is also the most popular spot for snorkelling as there are large numbers of fishes and other marine life here. Most of the snorkelling packages available on the island will include the Marine Park Centre in their trip. There is an admission fee for RM 5 per adult, half the price for children and this is usually will be collected by the resort operator where you book your snorkelling package. There is also an exhibition centre by the Marine Park Centre that opens to the visitors to show baby turtles from the park’s hatchery, with the hatchery located just down the road of the exhibition building.

Sunrise and Sunset Viewing

Watching sunrises from Redang Island is not something to be missed and especially for those who are staying in Pasir Panjang or Teluk Kalong, they will have the best breathtaking view of the sunrise. Wake up before six in the morning, and with a good weather, enjoy the beautiful sunrise Redang Island can offer. For sunset, there are no resorts located in the western part of Redang thus to catch a sunset, the best way is to charter a boat to the other side of the island. Some of the resorts on the Island also have a sunset cruise package, so do ask the place where you are staying if they do provide this.

There are beach sun loungers and parasols on their beach for their customers to sit back and relax on the beach. They also offer a range of activities to do on the island at a great price, so do check out at the front desk for this. The resort is located just 3.3 kilometres away from the Redang airport.
