Simpang Ampat which is also known as Simpang Empat, is a minute town located in South Seberang Perai, Penang. It is located between Bukit Mertajam and Sungai Bakap. This town covers the area from Juru to Valdor which includes Permatang Tinggi, Bukit Minyak as well as smaller villages within the perimeter. The center of this small city is located on Jalan Besar or also known as Simpang Ampat Main Road. The newer part of this old town is developed towards the east and the smaller housing estates are on the southwest.
