Tanjung Malim is a town in Muallim District, Perak, located at the south of Perak Darul Ridzuan bordering Selangor Darul Ehsan and topographically bordering Pahang Darul makmur. It is approximately 70 km north of Kuala Lumpur and 120 km south of Ipoh via the North–South Expressway. Having the Titiwangsa Range as its background and the Bernam River to its side, Tanjong Malim is an interesting gateway town into Perak to visit. Tanjong Malim has always been known as the Education Town where the Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Sultan Idris Education University) located here. Tanjong Malim also has the potential of becoming a developed town at the southern of Perak. Tanjung Malim is accessible by air through regular scheduled direct flights from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA2) to Penang Airport and Johor Airport to Ipoh Airport. Alternatively, flight from Singapore to Ipoh is also available via Firefly and Tiger Air. From airport you may take taxi to reach Tanjung Malim.
Tanjung Malim is accessible by road from the capital Kuala Lumpur or South Peninsular via the North-South Expressway and exit at Tanjung Malim. The travel from Kuala Lumpur to Tanjung Malim would only take a one hour scenic drive. If driving from Ipoh or North Peninsular, use North-South Expressway and exit at Behrang. It only takes about 1 hour 31 minutes from Ipoh to Tanjung Malim.
Using almost similar route and travel time taken by car or taxi, bus is an alternative transportation to get to Tanjung Malim. If travel from South Peninsular, one need to transit at Puduraya Bus Terminal, Kuala Lumpur and choose the following bus company to get to Tanjung Malim.
