It was a wonderful experience, from the front reception, the room, the food and the facilities provided.. would highlight the cleanliness of the room prepared by the hotel... 5 Stars from us not to mention the awesome beach and the sunset

Not worth the money or the distance away from -- everything--. Property is tired-looking & overpriced.
Aside from a clean beach and large rooms, there was nothing else we liked. We felt that we were grossly overcharged for staying here. We were paying over $200USD/night for a Deluxe garden-view room which was a 2-story place that as soon as you walk in you are in front of 2 twin beds, you have to walk upstairs to get to the king-size bed. There was no living room as advertised. The minifridge in the room did not work. While the room was spacious it was old and the furnishings looked worn out and dated. While the rooms were clean there was just a huge disappointment in the amenities and it was not set up in a way that allows a family to actually be in the same room together (no living room). But the room is just for sleeping, right? We thought we'd spend most of our time at the pool or beach anyway. Wrong! The pool water was questionable looking. Probably due to the recent storms, so we weren't sure if it was safe to swim in. We were also disappointed to see the waterslide was not operating. One father was filling up a container and pouring water down the slide so that his small children could try to slide down the slide. That's ridiculous! There were no pool attendants, there is not any poolside services, no music, nothing that seems "resort" like about the pool area. The cabana area down by the beach was a mix of restaurant seating and what looked like old leftover banquet tables brought in to serve larger crowds but the seating covers and table cloths were dirty and wet. Why when its rainy would you have this in an outdoor area? The breakfast is a buffet. It had congee, toast, an egg station, a soup of the day and a few dishes that mostly looked like leftovers from the previous night's dinner buffet. The food is bland and of lower quality than we expected for what we were paying for our stay here. Dinner was not any better. For dinner, you can choose the buffet or order off the menu. Again, we were disappointed. There were no real Borean dishes here. There was Chinese and western dishes on the menu. The buffet was a let down. We avoided being here for dinner our other 2 nights we were here. The service was hit and miss. When you had their attention in the bar and restaurant area, they aimed to please and were very friendly. But they were not the most attentive and you have to flag them down. In the hotel lobby, the staff are very attentive and we were well taken care of with any inquiry for taxis. We met a couple of the managers and they were helpful and extremely friendly. The issues we see the hotel facing is not a result of poor management as the managerial level but what seems to be a lack of investing in upkeep and maintenance of the facilities and in providing better quality food. I suspect this is an ownership issue and the owner of this property needs to either invest in updating this property and improve the facilities, the amenities and the menu or significantly reduce the price. At the end our our trip to Borneo we stayed at a 5-star hotel right by the night market and paid the same price as we paid for Beringgis and it was well-deserving of charging us $214/night (which included meals). Beringgis is completely out of the way with nothing nearby and seems to really be a corporate team-building "camp" and conference center for local companies. It does not seem to be catering to travelers and should not be charging more than $100/night for a family room until it does some serious repairs to its facilities and upgrades to the standard of quality it offers non-conference guests. I never write reviews like this but this is the first time in years I have felt ripped off by a hotel to this degree.

First of all the staff are rude especially at the front desk as i walk in asking which they have sanitary pads for women and they said we have and they teach us some few words "pelabut puki" i dont know and as i ask my friends which its local, the words they use act is a rude words which means wrapping your vagina. How rude is that? I remember the guy name patlik if im not mistaken. So rude. Secondly, the room dirty, the lamp are not function ing and even a tv not working. I check out early because there is a lot of mosquito in the room. Not worth it to stay here. Please think twice.

Nice and relaxing beach resort
Me and my housband stayed in the resort for the second time. It's very relaxing and surrounded by beutiful nature. The food is good and you have enough choice, rooms are nice, big enough and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We would like to Mr.Dony, Ms. Amelia, our driver, cleaning staff and hotel management. We might come back next year.

Booked as part of organised trip - food and location poor.
We were booked into this resort as part of an organised tour of the Sabah region. We stayed 2 nights at the beginning and 4 nights at the end,... which was too long. This hotel is fine for 1 or 2 nights, they have a nice pool, its by an empty beach and the rooms are in good condition, BUT the food offering is very poor. There is only 1 restaurant with a very limited menu, the dining is outside only and therefore no respite from mosquitoes. Also there are no local alternatives within easy walking distance, and it's difficult to try to walk anywhere as the road outside is very busy. We did try and move whilst our stay, to a hotel closer to KK, but unfortunately we were in peak season and there was no availability, it wasn't the best end to a great holiday.
