Enjoyed 6 days there
Not in the centre of Georgetown but in a quiet green surroundings , except the road and bus stops .Hotel situated 10 min walk from thai embassy ,15 minutes to gurney drive ( seaside ) street with 2 good malls . 5 minutes to Chinese food court with. cheap local dinings. The stuff is very hospital and always friendly . It was raining 1 st day and they gave us an umbrella, helped with advices about Penang sightseeings and how to reach them fast . Gave us for free two good bicycles which made our ride throughout city much easier . Thanks them a lot . The rooms are clean , there is coffee , cups , plates , tv ,hot water . No windows , office lightening , not much space - not a good choice for whom liked to spend much time at a Hotel . drinking water , fridge and microwave is on the 2nd floor . Walls are thin and you hear all the sounds from the hall . We are active travelers so for us it was not inconvenient and cheap , we don't expect much and liked stay here . If u d like comfort and so on I recommend eastern oriental hotel .

Ideal for us and the staff were great
This hotel is a distance from the centre of Georgetown, however the buses are cheap as chips and once you know where to get them from, transport to and from the hotel is easy! It is very basic the hotel, walls are very thin. However the experience was pleasant. The staff were fanstastic and very helpful - even gave us a lift all the way to the Butterfly farm. There is Gurney Plaza a 20 minute walk away which is a very good shopping centre, Nd there is a park about 5 minutes away where you can hike to Penang Hill or use the outdoor fitness equipment (mainly bodyweight, as seen in parks all over Asia). Overall no complaints and staff very helpful, suits the price as we booked very last minute (we booked on the weekend of Eid ending) and Penang is a popular area. Thanks guys

Family trip
A family friendly hotel with a child clinic beside it. Children's park and pools , hiking trail and lots of exercise machines at a nearby Youth Park. Close by Botanical gardens too and Shopping complexes Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon. Tesco and Straits Quay . Stayed in two big family rooms, one room with four single beds and another room with queen size bed and a single bed .Worth the price we paid. Going to places is convenient with busy bus stop nearby.

not worth the price
Stayed a couple nights in this hotel located a good distance from downtown georgetown (will need a bus or cab). Paper thin walls. If you like hearing your neighbors fart, have sex, or even whisper, this is the place you. Friendly staff though. In short , not worth half the price asked.
