Short visit
We came to visit Damai Beach just for a couple of hours after the Sarawak village visit. As our hotel was a sister hotel of the Damai Beach Resort, we enjoyed the swimming pool and the beach area. The mt. Santubong view was stunning.

Great Visit
Great location within walking distance of the Sarawak Cultural Village AND a national park with walking trails. We had a spacious, clean room; the food was very good and we enjoyed the pool. We would have extended but it was a weekend and they were filled up. Staff were very helpful.

3rd Visit, still a great place to stay.
Stayed at Damai Beach Resort twice previously and will be back for a 4th visit soon. We arrived on a busy long weekend and requested an upgrade to a Hill Top room, which was arranged by the fantastic accommodation manager Christina, no fuss. While we were waiting drinks and lunch was offered, anything we needed to give my Husband and I a comfortably wait, after a long trip from Australia. The accommodation provided had a large sitting-room with balcony and separate bedroom, also with balcony overlooking the sea and Mt Santabong. For dinner that evening, we visited the Restaurant, in the main complex and meet the asst. food and beverage manager Sulaiman, who turned out to be an extremely capable manager, overseeing the food area and staff training, not an easy job, as most of the staff are young and inexperienced. Never less they provided a good service. The Restaurant offers a-la-cart and buffet speciality nights at excellence prices.Wine is available from the a-joining bar, which has a Happy-Hour every evening. A small take-away deli is located at the side of the Restaurant, serving delicious sandwiches, cakes and all things available on the Restaurant Menu, including, Pizza. During our 7 night stay my husband became unwell, both Christina and Sulaiman went out of their way to provide all my requests for special food and medical help, which thankfully, was not needed.I was driven up the hill to my room by the Resort Manager accompanied by Christina, a very nice gesture. The resort offers an "on demand" shuttle service, useful if you are not able to climb the hill, it also can take you into Kuching (cat) City for a small charge, leaving 3 times daily and terminating outside the Grand Margarita Hotel, very central to the waterfront and shopping. Compliments to the boys running this great service. Our check out went without a hitch, taxi ordered, coffee offered and excepted, from Sulaiman while we were waiting. This complex is in the process of being renovated to a 4 star rating and we wish the best to the management. Grateful thanks to Sulaiman, Christina and all the happy staff, for their fantastic service.

Tired but friendly hotel...
Stayed for 2 nights in a beach chalet for a company event. Furnishings, bedding and towels were old but clean. They offer only hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. If you want toothbrush or other toiletries kit, you have to call Housekeeping. If Housekeeping doesn't answer their phone, call Front Desk who will help to pass your message to Housekeeping. Toilet handle came loose on the day of my departure (fortunately for me but not for the next guest, I guess!) It has a small but clean private beach with nice soft sand. Hotel is located near a cultural village and other attractions nearby but sadly, I did not get to explore. I will come back for another visit BUT only if the hotel renovates its rooms.

Worth visit
The 2d1n trip was amazingly good. We booked 2 hilltop sea view room. Despite the fact we requested to connect side by side. We were put into two block. The rooms are very spacious. The view from the balcony is spectacular. We tried both swimming pools. One at hill top one near to the beach. Both are good. Sea was extremely calm so we managed to swim in the sea. Overall we are satisfied with our stay and will definitely visit again.
