Amazing place and great service in tropical paradise
The island was beyond beautiful, Pulau Besar is so untouched from all the commercialisation. While some people might find that inconvenient, I loved getting away from the crowd. Among the few accommodations available in the island, i feel D'coconut is definitely one of the best options for the price you pay. The room was spacious and clean and so was the washroom. Although hot water is not available, the water temperature is actually normal during the day. Moreover, the water is not salty water like in the Gili islands. The package includes ferry transfer and meals and I loved the dinner and breakfast and dining with a beach view. Fitri (our receptionist) was extremely helpful and gave us whatever is needed. He even offered us a free kayak because the guide was unavailable at our time. Best part is you get to live write by the beach, enjoy hammocks and swings on the beach and also dine by the beach! They can arrange snorkelling trips to nearby islands for you too for 80rm/person and the coral life there is amazing. One last thing to note, unlike what's mentioned on their website, they have two return ferries to Mersing, one at 10.30 and one at 1.30. So, better to double check with them during booking! Overall, I had a great time and would definitely go back!

Worst Trip Ever
Headed to Pulau Besar for a chillax stay but ended up being sorely disappointed. I booked for 3N but left only after 1. My face went from :) to :( within 1 second of opening the room door. The room was rundown with dirty toilet, dysfunctional air conditioner that kept spurting water, and less than comfortable bed. No TV, no phone. Wifi can only be detected at reception. For the price I am paying I expected more. Food was hard to come by as you could only eat at a certain hours as ALL the resort eateries refused to serve me food and told me to come back at designated meal hours. Did I transport myself to prison island? There wasn't any convenience store that I could buy snacks from. It took me less than half an hour to 'explore the whole island' (nothing much to explore really). Worst part is I was bitten by lots of sandflies at the breakfast area! If I got bitten at the beach I wouldn't be complaining, but the staff should ensure that guests can eat comfortably at the breakfast area no?

All that Glitters is not Gold
Looking for peace & serenity on this trip, my first visit to Pulau Besar, decided on D'Coconut resort. As is, pictures can be deceiving but i was expecting not to be this bad. It's a very run down room, with bed bugs, broken toilet door, dirty toilet. Pretty disappointed with this, plus the ferry timing which is very inconsistent. Only 3 resorts on this island, which i visited neighbouring resort, Aseana. Food served on this island is a disappointment, for smokers, i advice to buy your cigarettes before heading to the island. Basicly, nothing is on the island. Of course it's cater for guests that is into water sports activities nevertheless, nothing much on the island. Pool is very dirty, Wifi connection very bad, no tv provided in rooms, no phones to call reception. Furnitures in room is very very old. Peaceful stay but solitaire..
