- Adventure
I was really satisfied to this hostel, it was Mohammed who worked at this hostel for short time while waiting for his project begin in KL. He was really nice to 4 of us and told much about his life in US. I will come back again :)
- Backpacking
We were arrived in the morning. We did not sleep to stay here, just for a shower only and the afternoon had gone back to KL. It service was fine, ranging from Kunal Vig clerks. Strategic location, near with Jonker Street (tourist center Melaka city)
- Backpacking
Strategic place and a very good service from the staff.
- Business travel
I stay with my other 3 friends To passable strategic location not too far from the tourist attractions around Stadhuys and near the road jonker front room is interesting because it is full of graffiti dindinding by previous tamu2. There are 3 rooms and we got a room private with two double beds First impressions entrance to the room is very stuffy rooms smell of damp Looking down the bed a lot of garbage As he had not been cleaned there is air conditioning and a fan for the above room windows can also be opened Room we get a rundown impressed but I've seen other rooms that kind as dorm was spacious and better than our room was not good for the family to be tried backpacker standard breakfast of bread and jam and coffee
We had come very late, until Melaka 1am and were warmly received at this Malacca Fernloft .. Recommended deh anyway ..

good standard for low prices
The rooms are very basic but the beds are quite comfortable. Aircon is provided in the dorm. The showers have warm water and the surfaces are clean. The breakfast is a fake, only slices of toast with jam. For the low prices it is a good deal to sleep there. The hostel is close to the sights of the town.

An ideal homestay for solo traveler You can share room with people from around the world I've met tourist from U.K., Australia and etc They provide breakfast but just a bread with jams You'll be given a locker to put ur things and it's hot during daytime ... Air conditioning only can switch on during night Rooms are on upstairs while bathrooms and washrooms are same floor with reception

One of the crapiest hostels in Malaysia
We entered in because if the tripadvisor sticker on the door, but it was really dissapointing and not good value for the money. It is not clean at all, we booked a private double room and we have to move out during the night because the cealing was leaking water during the storm. The sheets are dirty, there is nothing you can call "breakfast". The coffee jar was a scab. There is just one poor guy working 24 hours there and taking care of the reception, cleaniless and other duties. Of course he is overwhelmed. The A/C is super high at night so we got sick. Everyone can come to the dormitory during the night switching on the light. The toilet is awfull. Just one dirty shower. Wifi was working but not really good. We do not understand the score in tripadvisor. It should be 0 points.

Average Stay with Uninterested Staff
Having just stayed at the Fernloft in Singapore and having a less than adequate experience, our expectations for the Melaka hostel were not high. Upon arrival we were shown to our private double room which was very basic, worn, hot and humid, but didn't feel as bad as the Singapore version as it was less than three times the price. With one day to spend in Melaka we went downstairs to the front desk to ask for some advice and recommendations of what to do. This was met with a very uninterested reply stating that he had no idea and that he was infact from KL. After our own exploration, it turns out that the hostel has a great location just behind Jonker Street and within walking distance of all the major attractions. The shower area is on the ground floor of the hostel and are in a fine condition however glass doors through into the reception area means a lack of privacy when entering/leaving the showers and when using the sinks. Overall, if you are after a cheap place to stay close to everything and don't mind grubby/worn rooms and very basic facilities then Fernloft should be fine. However, i would perhaps recommend just turning up in Melaka as there are so many budget accommodations in the same area that a good deal may be had by just walking into some of the slightly nicer establishments.

Good to stay only if you aren't fussy about the cleanliness and hygiene
Chosen to stay here because of the price and location but the environment was a bit creepy to be honest. Bed linen has got some blood stains and the wall was not very clean. Bathroom and toilet weren't very pleasant to be used as well. No hot shower as well. Overall rate for cleanliness is 1/5. Yes, it was just a BnB but could be done better in terms of hygiene and cleanliness. Unless you don't mind and just wanted to have few days stay then you are good to go. Else please don't mind spending more money and more time searching for better place to stay.
