4.8
First time we got a little bit hard to found this hotel. There wasn't any hotel name in there. The locals helped to found it. The location is behind of the indian restaurant. Something that made we shock is when we must took off shoes or slipper to entry from the lobby to the room even though all the way were dusty because they had some renovation. Dirty and dusty room and smelly toilet. Not recommended

Superb!! Good staff and good service.

The path to the accommodation is rather horrible. Need to update and clear the route. Hidden signboard. Comfortable room and toilet. Affordable price with room.

Comfortable
Room (including the toilet) is clean and neat. There is no television in the room. Restaurant and beach are pretty close. The manager is friendly and always at his place. Very recommended for the solo traveler.

No windows in this inn
Easy to get to from the airport 102 bus leaves every hour ask driver to drop you off by police station. Just carry on walking same way as bus 20mtrs your there. Inn is all on ground level but there isn't a outside window in the place all artificial light, there is a window in most rooms looking onto a corridor. There is a lounge area that was comfortable where the manager sat. He was always pleasant and helpful when needed. The kitchen was basic with hot and cold drinking water, fridge freezer and basic gas cooker. Wife refused to enter it after she seen a rat scurrying across, some poison was put down after reported. Bedroom was basic bed was huge, television didn't have western channels, wifi was ok but did go off quite a few times. Bathroom was clean, shower good. Sound proofing was very poor, there was mosque nearby and the call to prayer was very loud and went on for rather a long time especially early in the morning 4, 5 or 6am it was relentless. There was a nice beach very close and night market about 7 each evening for a browse and a great food court in it. 101 bus takes you into Georgetown 2.7 ringgits. Penang hill was nice but very long queues to get on vehicular 30 ringgits, 204 bus from Komtar bus station.

More of a hostel
First the positives: the gentleman in reception was very helpful and friendly. Free water and coffee on request. Had to ask for clean towels and bedding when needed, but no problem there. WiFi was ok, air-conditioning certainly worked (a little too cold at times!). Very easy to find when you get off the bus from George Town or airport. Good comfy bed. Shower facilities fine. A nice night market seems to be on every night. Good to wander along the main street and get something to eat. Next the negatives: the window looks onto a dark corridor, if you draw the curtains back anyone walking past sees right in, so we kept them closed. To me this means no window, you certainly cannot see out to see what the weather is doing. There is a small kitchen where you can get boiling water and use the fridge, you really wouldn't want to cook in it. One night when it was raining very hard a rat ran past me! The man in reception (manager?) put some poison down, but the doors are very badly fitting so they will easily run in when they want to. Not being a rat lover I didn't go in the kitchen again. This is very much a hostel rather than a hotel. Don't expect room service, we took our own rubbish out of the room, the floor was very bitty after 5 nights. Have to say I would have left sooner but my husband refused to leave early as we had already paid! Also nearly forgot, a very loud and enthusiastic call to prayer happens at 5.45 every morning and lasts for ages, I think you get the full service whilst lying in bed.

valuable place. affordable for low budget backpackers
it's a really nice place, tidy and calm in a really good condition...the staff is outstanding polite and helpful. I rate this accommodation and the staff which i really recommend highly with five points but would not recommend the touristic and not comfortable area and touristic foodcourts around this place. So if you need a break and fresh clothes (there's a really good laundry next to this place) before you continue your travel it's absolutely worth to come here!! The beach is very close at the other side of the road but I would only enter the water at low tide as it's really muddy and smelly at high tide. Thank you for your hospitality! Cheers
