Good for stay, good service and easy to shopping
- Family vacation
My room air conditioning was not function, shower has broken, refrigerator also has broken and they doesn't not take action immediately, at first they say there is no room to replace, after I said "you guys knowing that this room was having problem, how come you can serve customer with this room" then suddenly there is a room for us. So that's mean at first place they are lying to me or what. That is so unforgivable will not gonna stay here again and will not recommend to others as well....

It is comfortable and nice place to stay
It's an old room without any update and renovation.
Everything just fine except I have to wait almost 1 hour to get the room.
If have a chance again in the near future, I would like to stay here again, hopefully Grand Borneo Hotel have a great offer in the future. The food is good, the environment is also good, it is near to one Borneo Mall, I give 4.5/5 for this hotel.
- Family vacation
Hotel is great! Good location, food and service. However, late check in (we need to wait for 2 hours) need to be improved.
Good service and recommended hotel.
- Backpacking
No more car parking, location far

Honestly, not worth the price.
Stayed for 3 nights with family. Terribly maintained building and rooms.. saw the Felda banner in the hallway and was not surprised. If you've been to any other Felda owned hotel, you know all their hotels are in need of a remodelling 10 years ago. Rooms are terribly designed. Got a room with a window.. of a view of a wallpaper. I'm not even joking, they made the room smaller by creating a wall with a small space just to add a window, then called it an "inner window". I'd rather have a more spacious room than a useless window. How depressing. Carpets were sticky. I found lots of peanut shells underneath the bed when I moved it to take something I dropped. We had to ask for bedroom slippers because the carpet was too sticky. Bathroom walls are terribly stained. You can see the difference where the suds don't touch. Wouldn't hurt to scrub with some bleach at least once a week. Even worse -- NO HOT WATER. We called the maintenance at 10pm and they promised to send someone over right away. We waited for an hour and a half and called back and they sent someone immediately. I guess they forgot the first time or didn't understand the urgency of needing a shower before bed... The guy came and asked which side of the knob we turned. We explained what we did and his explanation (in Sabahan) was, "the heater in the hotel is not like the one in your home.. it doesn't heat up instantly, this one takes 5 to 10 minutes to heat up". He left and we tried. Left the water running for half an hour and it was still ice cold. Never mind, I told my mum, we just have 3 nights here, no big deal. Well let me tell ya, BAD IDEA. What's worse than paying almost RM200 a night for a hotel room with no hot water? BED BUGS. I'd post a picture of my body but that would be pornography because I kid you not, I have bites all over me. The first night I thought it was just a reaction to unclean sheets, and I was busy the whole time I was in KK, I never actually had time to stop to properly check the itchy spots even when I was in the shower. But on the last day I noticed they looked like insect bites but my mum insisted they were probably a reaction to the sheets. I'm back home now and I have time to properly look at all the itchy spots on my body and they are definitely insect bites. Even worse, I am getting new bites here, which means I have brought the bugs back home. Beyond pissed is not enough to describe how I feel. I don't even want a refund because money can't take away the bugs that are now making my home theirs now. 2 stars is generous enough to give.. the only reason I would give it 2 stars is because it's attached to a mall, and that's it. But to be fair, the location itself is away from the city centre (15 min with no traffic, and KK traffic is horrendous) so if you're there to really explore KK, don't even consider this place. Don't bother staying here. Not worth the price. Might as well stay at the Tune Hotel next door that's cheaper, cleaner and they provide the same basic amenities if you insist on staying at a hotel that's attached to the 1Borneo mall.

Not well maintained
The hotel has not been maintained properly. Room was not really clean, can see stains here and there. Safe deposit box in the room cannot be use, and nothing was done to addess the issue. Basic coffee and tea provided but there was no spoon or stirrer provided. Next to the mall..but limited shopping choices. It’s rather far from the main town so probably not the best place to stay if you looking to going arounds the town

Good value for a short trip
Room : I booked a superior room. The size is just nice for 1 person. However the table is at corner and the light is too dim, I found it not suitable to do my work and I ended up do it on a bed.I was lucky not to be disturbed by noisy neighbors so I had a good rest and stay. The bath tub is worn out and the sink plug cannot be pulled out once I used it. Had to call the maintenance for help. My advice just use the shower head. Staff : Reception staff were great and helpful so does the housekeeping staff. They even responded to my email very fast during the booking process. Breakfast buffet : Limited food and average taste. Others : Plenty of eateries to choose nearby and lots of taxi if you fancy a tour in the city centre (about 30-40 minutes journey and fare around RM40-50 to city centre/airport)

An option in Kota Kinabalu Sabah
When there for business reasons....so has to make the best out of things...first its located outskirt of Kota Kinabalu town...abt 20mins away with the traffic...first impression...hmmm...quite sombre appearance, the lobby was a bit old looking...the reception staff needs to smile more...looking a bit stern and expressionless...took a while to serve me with the key to my room... Another long waiting for the lift...experienced it everytime....the room was gloomy and sad...some repainting and retiling required...and got a very noisy neighbour(with loads of friends) next door...no sound proofing at all...sigh...suprisingly, the bed was comfy...had a good nite sleep after my neighbour's keeping quiet. Breakfast was ok with some varieties, food was ok... The good thing is that the hotel is attached to a mall...many restaurants and shops nearby... One advice...need transport if you need to go places..no worries...taxi is available...or just uber or grab...

Good customer services by all staff. Room small but cannot expect much from the price that I paid. Room sound system very poor and unfortunately I've got noisy neighbours. The bathroom shower layout is unacceptable. When take shower the shower room floor was constructed slanted in a way that the water flow back into the bathroom. So so silly.
