Relaxing
Stayed her for just 2 nights second week of December. It was rainy season hence weather was also nice and cold at 15°C in the mornings. It was so foggy which made driving a challenge at night. But they had shuttle vans going to and fro from the hotel to first world. There was construction going on around the hotel. They had a heated pool which was great but as we stayed in Block 1 (separate block from main lobby building), we had to walk out in the cold through the main lobby and take a lift to the 7th floor. Overall, we would definitely stay here again!

Change of hotel management. Still good at the moment but this time with some disappointments.
When we drove to the hotel we were so surprise that there's no hotel signage this time at the entrance, before the winding road. At the lobby was a little unhappy with the new female staff's response (apparently still under training), didn't see those familiar faces at front desk. We later then found that hotel was being renamed to Grand Ion. No longer Best Western Premier! I was so surprise cuz this is a very new hotel. It is no wonder the previous friendly front desk staff was gone. I can't help to worry about their standard will drop. Good thing is we found the room floor is very clean. Everything still remain the same. Except that one of the balcony door still "stuck". We stayed at the same room & it was already like this many months ago. We feedback before but the maintenance team doesn't seems to care. Haiz... If this is other hotels such as Ascott, they would already send a team to fix the door immediately. Still love the weather and the view(at the moment!). There some new construction site going on further down near the guard house as they're building new towers and it might block the view of some towers! I was wondering who is gonna stay at this hotel if there's no more mountain view? Also the construction site doesn't look safe to me. It is on the hill side. After the incident took place in Penang, Cameron highlands. I would not believe the land is safe if anyone is building a tower on a hill. We saw truck after truck is transporting the soil from other places to this construction site. So it's not solid ground! One very very unacceptable thing i found at the swimming pool was a rusty needle! It seems to fell from the ceiling into the swimming pool. Lucky my husband spotted it when he just stepped into the pool. We have kids along with us & this is so unsafe! Not just to us but also to other people. What if one injured his feet by this needle? It's rusted & the damage is unimaginable! I returned it to the staff at the pool area but i'm not sure will they tell their management about it. I should have take a picture of it & post it here for the management to take note of it. Gosh i am so regret that i didn't take the picture of it. I am quite angry about this needle & also worry about the construction site of the new tower. Please don't tell me that it is safe. No one is really/sincerely responsible for any words until the accident happen. Let's hope nothing will happen. This is such a nice place. I hope it won't ruined because of some money driven idea.

Great New Hotel In Genting
We made a perfect choice by opting for Best Western Premier ION Delemen for our recent trip to Genting Highland Cons - No signage leading to the hotel and we had a tough time locating it upon arrival as the roads leading to the hotel is under construction. Pros - Away from the main Genting hotels - Shuttle provided every hour up to midnight to ferry you to and from the Resorts World Hotel (main attraction area) - 2 bedroom suite was spacious with large living area / fully furnished - Breakfast spread was excellent - 24 hours minimart available - Friendly and helpful staff

Interesting hotel on the highlands.
It was a little surprised to reach to the hotel as needed to go through a farther and winding road. Staff at the reception was inexperience and inflexible, delayed our checked in process. The view from the suite room is excellent, looking out to all the greens and mountains with fresh and cooling air. Breakfast selections are great, food quality is quite good. Access to Genting Highlands central via their shuttle bus, need to register in advance and last bus back is 12am, else get your own vehicle.

BIG Kudos to Best Western Genting
Frankly, Best Western wasn’t in my list for this unplanned trip. I’ve made my research through reviews of previous guest and definitely I have the impression of “ Nah, this hotel doesn’t have “WOW” factors based on quite few reviews of dissapointment from the previous guest. But I have no choice as all hotels were fully booked. But to my surprise, I’ve had a pleasant journey with Best Western Genting; throughout reservation until I’m checking out. 1. Since this was an abrupt trip, hence, I’ve to find a last minute hotel. Online browsing all fully booked for the weekend. I’ve decided to call hotel for reservation instead, since I know prices vary from online, walk-in, phone reservation etc etc. A staff name Mr Jayamohan (if I’m correct) were very resourceful and had given me a good deal for the hotel room though I’m giving him a “difficult situation”. I really appreciate and admiring his tactfulness in handling me. 2. Our car broke down and it was around 9-10pm and I’m yet to check-in at the hotel. But with just a call, the hotel shuttle bus came for rescue within less than 15 mins with the Duty Manager Mr.Andy. He endlessly ensuring our safety and comfort and also most helpful throughout the process. Due to our circumstances, we were given an extended late check-out until 5pm the next day. Ms Sara Lyana, was the Front Desk officer’s during my check-in and has facilitate us with no hiccups and endless smile. Also a complimentary hot chocolate drink did warm us up after the hectic situation. Checking out were also smooth and the staffs were mostly helpful and attentive to guest. 3. Room services were on-time. Foods were good especially the char kuey tiow. Even a request for two extra blankets were very prompt. The kids love the complimentary drinks from the mini freezer. 4. The room was just nice for us with two boys age 7 and 9. We took single suite that has 1 bedroom, a living hall, a pantry, and a balcony ( it is small but just nice for my family). The sofa at living hall can be used as an extra bed for my kids. However, a good and diligent maintenance and housekeeping of the room is require. The room is fine but if it is not well maintain, the grand and exclusiveness may fade fast. Such a beautiful room but the pantry is seem worn out and coffee tainted. 5. They have a very simple but elegant compound in front of the kembali kitchen and the pool. A very nice warm pool. A good area for photos. Good thing is they have mynews convenience store which I guess a plus point for some guess with kids to find snack since the hotel were at the other side of the hill and secluded. Other facilities were quite normal and too bad, we couldn’t find the kids room. Maybe closed down. Also, the construction in progress=dust. All in all, my family and I had really enjoying our stay and the hospitality given by the hotel’s staff. We will definitely come back.
