Horizon Inn is a 2-star resort located on Pulau Pangkor in Perak, Malaysia. Pangkor Island is one of the many islands that is commonly visited by the locals and also tourists from many countries. The name of the island comes from a Thai word ‘Pang Ko’ which means Beautiful Island. Horizon Inn is a boutique size resort that aims to accommodate medium range budget tourists. It is located in Teluk Nipah which is one of the most beautiful beaches in Pangkor Island. It is also located strategically to many facilities nearby as well as right in front of the sea. This gives way for the resort to have a beautiful sunset view in the evening. Being on an island, the resort is able to organize tours to the nearby islands for snorkeling activities. The islands are Giam Island and Mentaggor Island. The resort also prepares kayak for those who wish to save some money and enjoy a good work out to make their way to the island. There is also a reserve forest nearby the resort. On a good day, one may be able to see a flick of hornbills soaring in the sky. It is definitely a sight that cannot be seen elsewhere.
This resort has their own seafood restaurant where they serve Malay food as well as grilled fish and seafood with western fusion style. They have a famous dish which is the steamed flower crab makes many visitors come here for more.
How to Get to Horizon Inn
It is possible to drive to Pulau Pangkor from Kuala Lumpur. One will have to take the North – South Expressway and head to Batu Gajah. The route continues to Lumut which will have signage to Pulau Pangkor from here. Unfortunately, cars cannot be brought to the island hence visitors will need to park their cars at the designated parking spaces for RM 5 per day. Then one will need to take the ferry to the island. To get around the island, one can always rent a car or motorcycle. Other than that, there are always taxis or Grab to take visitors around the island.
Another way to get to the island would be via bus. There are buses from Bandar Tasik Selatan or Terminal Bersepadu Selatan. Some of the companies that make their way there are Plusliner. They will head to the jetty where visitors will need to purchase their own ferry ride to the island just like those who drove there.
There are ferries that leave Lumut every half an hour. The fare is RM 6 per way per person. Some hotels and resorts may include this in the room rate already. On Pangkor Island there are two stops for ferries and they are Sungai Pulai and the Pangkor Town Jetty.

The hotel has 3 types of room. First is the Standard Room which accommodates 2 persons. It has either King bed or Twin bed. It is equipped with air condition. It has a private bathroom, television, Wifi and also hair dryer. This room is priced at RM 90.
Another room type is the Deluxe Room. It may accommodate 3 people. It has a double bed and also a single bed. It comes with air conditioning, private bathroom, television, wifi as well as hair dryer. This room is priced at RM 110.
Next is the Family Room. This room may accommodate up to 6 people. It has 2 double beds and are able to add in additional bed. It has air condition, private bathroom, television, wifi and also hair dryer. This room is priced at RM 200.

There are many facilities available at this resort. They have gift shop and food shop nearby the resort hence guests may always buy snacks and sit at the beach. They also have restaurants that are able to cater food anytime of the day. They also have 24-hour reception, wifi and also free parking. They also offer service to arrange tours for snorkeling trips at the nearby islands. The hotel can also rent out equipment for snorkeling like diving goggles, swimming laps and safety jackets.
Interesting Place Near Horizon Inn
Pangkor Fishing Villages - Pangkor Island’s main income would be their fishing activity. There are several fishing villages available here on the island. These villages would use what they have captures and make products such as dried fish, salted fish and many more to be sold to the public. They also open up restaurants to cook their fresh catch. There are also souvenirs sold at these villages to generate more income from their catch. Visitors can also learn how to catch fish and how the fishermen produce oceans such as the process of making dried fish or salted fish.
