Great find!
We loved our stay at this traditional quirky townhouse! The 5 bedroom property had 2 double bedrooms downstairs and 3 bedrooms upstairs (2 double and 1 twin). All the bedrooms are air conditioned and are windowless (great for a good long lie in!). The common areas just have fans which got a little hot and stuffy at times. There was a toilet and separate shower wet room downstairs and another toilet and separate shower wet room with Malaysian style toilet upstairs. There were 2 lounge areas (one on each floor) and an extra seating area with table and chairs on the upstairs galleried landing. Downstairs there is a spacious kitchen/dining area with 2 tables. There were no cooking facilities but everyone eats out in Malaysia so there's no need for it! The property was hard to find as google took us to a street at the back of the property which was very narrow. A very helpful local showed us where to go. There is a huge, gated car park so parking was no problem. Jawa Street is within easy walking distance to the main tourist attractions and there are lots of shops and restaurants in the area. To get in and out of the house you have to go through a communal gate that has to be kept locked for security. The problem with this was that we were only given 1 set of keys between 3 families! That was our only slight gripe.

Spacious, classic, clean, near to everything, value for money...the best townstay I ever had!
Had a weekend getaways with my family. It was a last minute decision, found this through online, grabbed my phone and managed to book a house instantly. The owner was very helpful. It was unexpected that the house that we booked is huge - a living room, dinning area, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms at ground level and 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and another living area at 2nd storey. All was good and clean, The traditional structure/component of the house esp. windows and some furniture are interesting. Located near to everything that we wanted to visit (museums, jonker street, etc.). Gated parking spaces is another plus point. It could be more interesting if the owner can convert it as a historical gallery (story of the owner/generations that had lived in the house) + townstay.

My "extended" family decided to spend a few days in historic Melaka. I managed to find this lovely "old" Baba/Nyonya house. This large house looks like it has been recently renovated, and has 5 bedrooms. All equipped with air-conditioning. Has a nice large kitchen area to accommodate our family during meals. The place was well kept, clean, and best of all, walking distance to everything. We ended up just parking our cars for the 3 days, and just walked around or used Uber/Grab if we needed to get to the malls. The host was very nice. Called a few days in advance to ask the time we are arriving, and had the place all ready for us. Great stay!

Heritage house, newly refurbished
Spacious, clean, neat place to stay 10 mins walk from town along the river. We love staying in a traditional, historic building, rather than a new hotel. Jordan and Damon so helpful and friendly. The houses have up to 5 bedrooms which makes it affordable for big family to stay. Secure parking in the gates yard is a bonus.

My favorite Hotel Jawa Street Town Stay
Stayed at this hotel 3 times within 3months. What makes me keep coming to this hotel is cleanliness of the hotel both interior and exterior. It gives me a feeling of freshness staying there. It is like a brand new hotel everything looks neat and new considering the price Is value added. Is convenient and walking distance to places of attraction. Close by the river. Ample parking space. My next trip will be very soon and also will be travelling with friends. Will be driving up from Singapore. On the way back again we will drop by Premium Outlet in Johor Bahru. With the good exchange rate We get value for our money for nearly everything. Our savings from this hotel good pricing allows us to shop more. Thank you TripAdvisor for this recommendation Jawa Street Townstay....Is worth waiting for.
