Abdullah Faqih Bandar Parit Raja Mosque is a landmark in the town of Parit Raja, which is about thirty-five minutes away from the town centre and 100 kilometres north of the state capital, Johor Bahru. This mosque is old but has recently undergone renovation works since 2011 that gets the old building replaced with a new three-story building. With the renovation cost of four million ringgit, the capacity of the mosque is also expanded to be able to accommodate 1,500 congregants in comparison to the 1,000 congregants capacity for the old mosque.
It is expected that this mosque would be the centre and meeting place for a total of 14 mosques in Sri Gading area. As such, this mosque is perfectly built to accommodate the religious needs of the growing residents of Parit Raja due to its bigger sheer size. The mosque is also positioned just nearby the main road of Jalan Kluang with close proximities to other facilities such as secondary schools, university, banks, petrol stations, supermarkets and many more.
Therefore it is easily accessible upon coming to Parit Raja, especially with its distinctive features in comparison to the buildings nearby. Since the completion of the new building, the mosque is more commonly used by the residents of Muslim faith for various religious activities such as sermons, the mass obligatory of five-time day prayers, Quran and hadith studies, breaking fast and many more.
