Durian Perangin has been named after the Durian trees that can be found in abundance around this waterfall area. It is located on the northeastern side of Langkawi and north of Kilim Village. Durian Perangin is a 14-tier waterfall and you can view different sections of the falls at various altitude levels. The waterfall comes down the northern slope of Gunung Raya which is the highest mountain on the island. The walk is through the wonderful forested parkland which is full of trees and greenery, rock formations and flora and fauna.
Among the trees includes the durian tree, money plant creepers, pricing, rattans, rengas, temaki and more. Besides that, there are many gazebos or hut like structures created along the way built for visitors to take rests. The best time to visit this waterfall is during monsoon time (September - October) because during the peak summer and dry season, the area becomes drier. For refreshment and snacks, there are several small stalls and shops selling souvenir items, hats and clothes, snacks, cold drinks and ice creams at the car park area.
From Kuala Lumpur city centre, you take the North-South Expressway and head north to take the Interchange 177 (Alor Setar Selatan exit) and proceed to Teluk Kechai. You can proceed to Kuala Kedah and take the ferry to Langkawi Island. After that, you can drive to Durian Perangin waterfalls for another 30 minutes journey via Ulu Melaka road.

Lies only 10-minute drive from Kuah Town, the Langkawi Wildlife Park covers over 5.5 acres of land area and known as 'Langkawi Bird Paradise'. It is a fully covered wildlife park and with the access of close interaction with the birds and animals, there are also feeding sessions with various animals and birds. The visitors can hand feed most of the birds and animals here with assorted food bags at a small price (RM6 per bag) that contains food for animals and birds. There are a crocodile and the pheasant's sections which consist of silver and white pheasants and peacocks. The Mammals section has several different types of small animals including Bearcats, rabbits, racoons, guinea pigs and small colourful 'Love Birds'. Besides that, there is orchid garden which features many types of orchid and flowers. There is also an on-site restaurant called Brahminy Kite Cafe that serves snacks and full meals as well as Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rice and Sandwich. The admission fee for adult is RM28.00 and child (3 โ 12 years) is RM18.00 for non-My Kad holder. The rates for MyKAD Holders is RM15.00 for adult and for Child (3 โ 12 years) is RM10.00. This park opens daily from 8:30 am - 6:00 pm.
