Cute boutique hotel
This hotel was known as Hainan House but since they have change the management now known as Nostagia Inn. This boutique hotel is located at Jalan Kuala Kangsar which is convenient place to stay. It's nearby to Penang Road, Prangin Mall, Komtar and near to Restaurant Hameediyah. We book 1 night there the Harmony room. I guess this is the biggest room they have. The room has 1 queen size bed and 4 single bed and it's just nice to fit 6 of us. The room is very spacious and it has living room, 2 bathroom. I love the Chinese art decor in the room. The place is strategic but problem is the parking. Please take note parking wise is not convenient. The hotel does not have parking area. It's a public parking and you can't simply park along the side ways coz you might get a summon ticket or car get tow. Overall I love the cute little hotel.

Noltagic Stay
First of All Tripadvisor the management has change from Hainan House and Now Nostalgia Inn..What a good deal. A good location. A good facilities. So close to everywhere. Walking distance to Penang Street for the famous Hameediyah Nasi Kandar , Cendol, Komtar, Upside Down Museum, Armenian Street, etc. We settled for Harmony room that fits like 2 families but only for he 6 of us. Parquet floor with wooden antique fixtures and fittings and 2 toilets..No hassel. The only issue is private parking. Take a look at our experience.

Superb location
They are no longer named as hainan house. They hv changed name to nostalgia inn. We stayed in the happiness room. It is very spacious with 1 king size bed and 2 single beds. Toilet is very clean! We loved the location as the hawker stalls and coffee shops are just infront of it. Walking distance to many famous streets and museum. Con: this room is not suitable for small kids and old folks because they need to climb up n down a steep staircases before entering /leaving the room. No room service. My hubby brought down the rubbish bag and threw it by himself. Overall i will still recommend this place .

Great location & value for money
We been to Penang for many times but this is our 1st time stay at Georgetown. The location of this hotel is perfect! Morning market just 20m away, Komtar / shopping malls are about 100m away, surrounded by all the Penang famous food.. e.g. Teow chew Cendol, prawn noodle, laksa, mix meat soup noodle, nasi kandar & a lot more (from morning to mid night) The nearest stall just in front of the hotel. The hotel only has 2 rooms. No reception & complicated check-in process. We booked the happiness, very big room with a king bed & 2 single beds. It was a very unique design room with free complimentary mineral water (unlimited) in a big fridge. This is my 1st time saw hotel provides so many instant coffees & tea bags for guest to consume. There is no satellite channel but hotel provides a 32" LCD TV, DVD player & a lot of DVD movies. Most of the furnitures including the floor & windows are made by antique wood. You can experience a good rest without any sunlight can wake you up... Thanks to the antique wooden windows :) From the hotel location.. After the breakfast you can walk around to visit all the famous street arts, local food, souvenir shop, cafe, 3D museum, temples & Chew jetty. The Georgetown map with hint for street arts & food are provided by hotel in your room. I will come back again & recommend to all my friends.

A scam, terrible service, no safety and under renovation
We booked the 'harmony room' of hainan house from hotels.com. The moment we arrived, I was really shocked to see that the first floor of hainan house was shut with a note saying "call mr tan" pasted on the front zinc roller shutter. I was really confused and upset to see that the pictures online looked nothing like the accommodation. The building next to hainan house was also dodgy and under construction. I called Mr Tan at 4pm and he told us he will be there in 5 minutes. At 4.20pm I called Mr Tan again to enquire his whereabouts and he said he is still on the way. At 4.35pm I called him once again and his worker rocked up in a tshirt and jeans with limited English proficiency. It was really confusing as I was not aware that he was the staff of hainan house. We went in and I became even more frustrated to see the unfinished building inside which was extremely different from the pictures from the website. This place is a scam, I spoke to Mr Tan again and after some commotion he gave us a refund. Please do not book this place, it does not look like anything like the pictures. I did appreciate that he refunded our money on the spot.
