I love the environment and such. The only thing that is not good is the WiFi and data line there is really bad. My phone was literally on flight mode when I reach my room. And even at lobby, I connected to the wifi, everything was so slow and kept disconnecting.

Really not worth the money spent! The price for a room without discount code is at par with 4-5 stars hotel, but you don't get what you paid for! The room was really old and badly maintained, and was not clean enough during check-in. I changed between 2 rooms during the stay, and both rooms are way smaller than what was displayed on the pictures. The amenities (room had Jacuzzi) was very old and dirty! The hotel has a very small lobby (I would not even call it a lobby it's just a reception desk for 2 staffs), and the staffs aren't that friendly. The resort's surrounding and ambiance is not well maintained and very far from expectations (again, as displayed in pictures, this is false!). It was so bad that I had to cancel my reservation for a Romantic Candlelight Dinner by the beach, as the area it's supposed to be in was very bad, unlike what's advertised on the website. They did not want to refund the dinner, so I had to change it into a spa session (which I already had paid separately for, so we ended up spending 2 days at the spa). It was so hard to find food in that village, as there were only 2 other restaurants/stalls available besides the resort's restaurant. Room service was denied after 4pm because they were short of kitchen staff as they had to prepare for the buffet dinner. Around 5-7pm, there is no way you can find food, as the stalls are also closed for prayers time, only resuming after 7.30pm. Unless you go to another village which cost RM35, one way, per person (ridiculous)! Breakfast spread was really bad! 3 local dishes (fried rice, fried noodles, porridge, juice, coffee&tea, fruit platter) were all they had! The egg station only served sunny side ups (what even?)! The only good experience is with the spa, (finally something worth paying for in the whole resort), the staff were very very friendly. The spa is under a separated management than of the resort by the way, maybe that explains why. The spa is owned by a separate owner. Overall, I feel cheated by Paya Beach Spa and Dive Resort. Everything looks so good on the website, that was why I did not mind the price kept. But it was not even close to expectation.

great facilities with great price!
we choose a package for the return ferry from Mersing to Tioman, accommodation, food and snorkeling activity. we can check in early, room great, toilet great except for the air-cond a bit leaked. food ok. facilities around also great. snorkeling they offer two destinations, marine park and ringgis island. suggestions for Paya Beach - you should drop passenger at marine park for us to get familiar with the water as we are from the city. some of my friends were first time snorkeling. they lend us safety jacket and snorkel equipment and can return the next day. TQ.

Very decent place
Read mixed reviews of this resort. So to play safe, i booked to most expensive suite. Pros.. Very very comfortable beds, strong aircon, clean linens, super big rooms. Cons Place is getting old and run down. Bathtub rusty and dirty, dare not use it. No wifi in the room. Its a beach resort afterall not a hotel so you have to match expectations accordingly. Friendly staff, hotel is super near jetty you wont miss it even if you try. Plenty of dive shops and provisions shops within minutes of hotel walking. Hotel itself got a decent minimart sells really cheap snacks and liquor. Dont bother eating the breakfast lunch dinner provided. Its really average or below. Eat at the beachfront restaurant within the hotel. A sumptuous dinner for two costs about 120 ringgit. Very affordable and nice. Paya cafe outside the jetty provides very nice food at local price. 3 ringgit for fruit juice. You get the idea. Hotel provides activities to keep you occupied the whole day. My room supposed to have sea view but all views were blocked by coconut trees. Cannot see anything useful. However you get a lot of privacy. Outdoor shower is a new thing to me. Paya resorts has one of the most beautiful sunset i ever seen. Special shout out to David our guide for going out of his way to arrange a last minute diving trip for us. Thanks.

Awesome accommodation for naturalists
I went to Paya for a one-week course, and the place was simply AWESOME! The accommodation was great, food was great, there are portable water available from the dining place of the resort. If you are a naturalist, this is the place for you. There are trails into the forest and river right behind the resort. There is also a trail to get to the mangrove forest nearby, not to mention the reefs right outside the resort available for snorkeling! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for family trips!

Comfortable stay but facilities needs fixing
Fully functioning resort in Kg Paya, the largest one too. Stayed in the Superior Rooms for 3 in Block 4, very modern and quite clean, however the bathroom needs some major upgrading, quite a lot of molds, and the pipes and other facilities in the bathroom are rusting. The balcony is a nice addition, but the clothes railing is badly damage and rusty too. Loads of cats roaming around, so being at the ground floor, do keep your sliding doors closed (the sliding door needs fixing too). Food wise, I won't recommend getting the full board as there are many other restaurants around the area and the lunch and dinner at the resort is not so nice. Breakfast is alright though. The front desk staffs are very friendly, except for one of the staff working at the restaurant, he was being rude and not helpful at all when we were asking a simple question. Personally, I love the atmosphere at Kg Paya, a small village where everything is in walking distance =)

Good resort
Visit in year 2016. Clean and comfortable place. Staff is nice, food average. Is recommend not to take the full package, so you can choose others food near by. There is many chinese food and halal food around and not expensive (don't compare with main land). Compare with others hotel in this island, i feel this is the best.
