not impressive
Stayed for a night for a course. Very poor services from staffs. Stayed at a family room with friends, 1) encounter difficulties during check-in, staffs are slow, unfriendly and not attentive. 2) faulty room keys. We have requested 2 keys and both are faulty. Unable to enter the room after went back from dinner. Called the counter and nobody came to help, waited 15 min and went down to counter myself. Told the card was reset, went up and still unable to enter, went down the 2nd time and staff not apologize at all. They tried to send the technicians but apparently technicians were not around until about half and hour later only arrived. 3) unable to go in the room for a 3rd time on the next day while preparing to check out. Think they need to look into this matter seriously and settle the room key issue. To be fair, rooms are fine, breakfast are fine, with enough selections, Restaurant staffs are all polite, Meeting rooms are suitable for small functions

Ok, Value for money
Booked 3 days 2 nights. When we entered the room the smell of smoke engulfs our nostrils. We complained and was immediately offered another room. But since we already settled we choose not to change and they supplied us with air freshener. Water pressure was ok but the water temperature seem hard to adjust Other than that no complain..you just get what you paid. Clean and bed is comfy.

Pinetree Hotel Batu Pahat worth a second stay
Another second trip to Batu Pahat... We booked 3D2N at Pinetree hotel also a local good friend we visiting suggested try this hotel for a change from the previous hotel Summit Signature. We check-in about 3pm was easy maybe b'cos BP small town in Johor unlike Malacca despite it was Saturday afternoon. As always asked for highest floor, kind and helpful staff obliged gave us 11th floor. Room with twin single beds was spacious and clean. Big bathroom no bathtub but it's okay can do without one. Satisfied with standing shower space separated by a shower curtain not aired and dried enough leaving an unpleasant smell. Standard toilet's amenities like hair dryer with bath towels except no hand towels and face towels. Happy to find two extra pillows to compliment the ones on the two single beds. Air-con looks new with remote control adjustable but tv channels only limited to local tv stations except one movie channel and discovery channel. One big complaint same like previous Summit Signature hotel; safe deposit box instructions provided but cannot closed. Even twice reported to the hotel reception staff turn a deaf ear no action taken totally ignored our feedback. Sometimes I felt that when you pay peanuts you'll get monkeys. For a 3-star hotel you don't expect too much then you won't get disappointed. Bad attitude will lead to bad review and management need to look into it and can be rectified by making sure maintenance is done when a guest complained. To make sure the next guest check-in would not encountered same problem. Breakfast buffet was satisfying. Same local breakfast nasi lemak, fried beehoon, plain porridge, cereals, bread and eggs scrambled or whatever way you want they'll do it. Mee rebus was very good. Gravy delicious with small pieces of beef not too thick but yummy. Bread pudding was second best not forgetting the malay kuih talam keladi made of flour and bits of yam was tasty not too sweet just nice. If anyone ask me if I would stay again this hotel, I would say yes despite the minor hiccups of the safe deposit. But the next time, damn sure I get them repaired the safe deposit or transfer to another room.

Clean budget hotel
Nothing luxurious about this one - but then again, for 25 -50 euros per night, you should not expect any. The wifi is iffy - it works from time to time; but the rooms are clean and the beds are relatively comfortable.
