Nice
One of the best thing about this Hotel is the location and how easily accessible it is from most tourists sites. There are plenty of restaurants all around, the beach is just 3 minutes drive, and 7 minutes max to the tourist spot Portuguese boat, Afamosa, shopping malls, Melaka river cruise, and 3 minutes to Jonker street, etc.. The only distant spot is the melaka zoo and wonderland which is approximately 30 minutes drive but easily accessible as well.

Very value for money - 2 nights
Positive: It has a nice large and clean bed with comfortable pillows and very thick blankets. It has a 7-11 within 1 min walk away which was very convenient if you need to get a SIM card or any snacks at night. There is a large food area with many delicious local delicacies just next to the hotel which opens from around 5pm. Room was very modern with nice bathroom. Sink and mirror was outside the bathroom (which was a little unusual) but I thought it was perfect for me because I can do my makeup and hair styling while someone else could still use the bathroom. There was a water dispenser (with hot and cold options) at the lobby area. Wifi was great as the router happened to be directly outside my room. For the price per night, the amenities were very very value for money. ;) Negative: The walls were a little thinner than we thought as we can hear some conversations from our neighbors. Location was quite far from the main street area and not too safe to walk alone due to dim lights and beaten pavements. Special Tip: Don't bother asking the receptionist to book a taxi for you. We wanted to book one to Jonker Street but we were told it cost around RM 35. Instead, we booked a GRAB and it came within 5 mins and it cost RM4!!!!! From then on, we took grab everywhere we went... All the grab drivers we met were very friendly and you can also ask for recommendations around the area for sight seeking and local food. Try to avoid paying cash and use the grab payment instead as some drivers don't keep spare change with them.

Good Night staff but lousy Day staff
Decided on this hotel based on value vs price when i was on an express coach from Kuala Lumpur towards Melaka. Reached Melaka Sentral at approximately 630pm with all my phones totally flat. Charged my phones at a cafeteria while i had a quick snack. To my surprise Taxi costs 30 rinngit for a short journey of less than 20 minutes. Night staff was actually calling me when i reach the hotel. Night staff was all friendly & made my day. This was end of the good part. Was told Jonker Walk was a short leisure walk from the hotel. IMO only a well travelled backpacker will save that taxi fare once he has attempted this walking once. You are walking along the dark lonely small creepy roads that you will not be able to see potential danger at all , whilst in the night. It's not a 10 minute walk, it took me 15~20 minutes with fast & careful walking. Jonker Walk was good but 7 minute taxi ride from Hatten Hotel to my hotel costs me 25 ringgit as almost every taxi driver was unwilling to drive towards my hotel's general vicinity, probably because they will return back to town with no passengers. I enjoyed my night rest in my room as the amenities are on par with 4 star hotels. Searching for my breakfast gave me more surprises. This is essentially a local residential area so most of the shops here are not opened on a Sunday. Real nightmare began when hotel's day female receptionist told me that she had called 3 times for taxi service without any taxi replying. Told me that there is no choice but to walk out to the main road to flag down a taxi. i looked carefully & she was polite but serious about her suggestion. i asked her how many taxi has she seen for the short 10 minutes i was away outside. She actually replied clearly that only 1 taxi passed by for 10 minutes!! I tried to plead but to no avail. In all my travels overseas, i have never been informed by my hotel that there is no taxi & leave me hanging dry!! A very kind couple staying at Hotel 906 just next door fetched me to town after i asked the hubby for road directions. In short, you can come have an enjoyable stay here if you have your own form of transport. Foreign tourists come here at your risk & peril!! Taxis do not come here & you are on your own to wander along highways or small winding residential roads with blind spots everywhere , to your final destination. Believe it as i have never been dumped outside without a taxi even while i was in Philippines, Cambodia.

Value-for-money boutique hotel
Pro: Decent hotel, value-for-money in terms of price Cons: Slightly off-beat location The rooms are not very big so if you have even a young family, upto one child (less than 12), it can work. Free parking is really parking on the street, at your own risk.

Hotel is new but sad to say, most equipment are badly maintained starting with the lift to your door locks.Stayed over for 2 nights in at room 211 (Family Suite).Basin right in the room which is unique, but not practical. The plus is that beds are comfortable ,Pillows are just right, not too soft.Housekeepers are efficient.I am impressed with them( i gave the a tip for a job well done).Location wise, good. Many eateries and shops around so one need not travel all the way to Jonker street for meals.Check out was prompt.
