Convinced to all places and good view
Our deluxe double message. AC & bathroom in for another type shared bathroom. Strategic location other side of the red building and very close to jonker street. Melaka river behind the hotel and there is a small cafe that night could hang out. Romance .. recommended

Best place to chill out.
It was the best place I've enjoyed during my holiday there. The receptionist was so friendly and experienced. I will go there again. It backs on the river which is the little Venice of Asia. The friendliness of the staff is so beautiful. There is everything you want. The cleanliness is impeccable. The price for the stay is unbelievable, cheaper than the it's competitors.

Great river view from the patio, but room surely needs a MAJOR update
I arrived at 12 midnight and had an easy check-in, which I was very thankful for. It was a quiet night in Malacca, could easily find a parking spot right in front of the B&B. Rooms are upstairs and mine was a queen-sized bed with just a side table, an air-conditoner and a wall fan. There's no TV. Didn't matter much to me, cos I wasn't gonna be there longer than 12 hours. What was disappointing was the condition of the room. Bed seemed very dusty and musty. Old sheets with stains were used. Not comfortable. View from the patio was amazing though. It's overlooking the Malacca river and opposite is just the Dutch Harbour Cafe I think. View at night was great. Even better during the day. Washroom was farly decent. No complaints about it. Floor was pretty darn creaky. I'm glad there weren't anyone else during that night (or there might have, I didn't bump into anyone else though) or else it would've been very noisy, I'm sure. Overall, I'd pay to stay again for the location, which is super close to Jonker Street, and Hard Rock Cafe (roughly 100m away) and H&M (!!!!). Also for the view. But not unless they completely revamp all the rooms.

never stayed in a guesthouse like this
i paid rm108 on 26jan RM168 on 27jan RM250 on 28jan RM230 on 29jan for the same room with a shower and toilet. on 28jan, almost 10 kids were running around until 11:30pm while their parents were drinking on the veranda. they were noisy as well until 01:00am. i went to see the manager or owner and told him about the noise...screaming and running around by about ten kids. they were relatives of him(owner). he thinks it is nothing for me to complain about. i highly recommend noise lovers to stay here but for those who prefer quiet nights, especially after 9pm or so, DO NOT stay here. owner's attitude clearly demonstrate i am a wrong person to stay here. wifi for using ipad is simply terrible all through my stay. worse than most places in cambodia and vietnam. owner says this is the best wifi system available for him. as i am from japan, i need to keep myself updated, especially news and very very weak wifi makes me feel irritated taking three times or even longer. wifi is on and off all the time. for those of you not using ipad, maybe it is not bad. for those using ipad, better stay away from this guesthouse. ten minute walk will take me to macdonald and i am there daily for one hour as wifi is far better there. please remember to choose the kind of accommodation of your choice. it can ruin your stay totally.

I can not believe people say this is a budget place. NO IT'S NOT! This is definitely my worst experience in 4 years travelling. I had a bus arriving in Malacca at 7 AM, I messaged them saying that and they said that would be no problem. Waited in front of the door for 20 minutes until someone come, the price of the booking was lower than the price he was charging me, whatever, I will not argue over 20-30 ringgit... And it comes the nightmare, even that the room was available, they didn't want to do my check in until 14:00, we were so tired of the trip but accepted that. The good news came when the manager (which is really rude) said that I could not check in until I paid. DUDE, I'm here for the last 4-5 hours and you just tell me now?! The machine rejected my credit card, and I didnt have money on me (not enough to pay my stay, 'long stay', 5 nights... It's almost the maximum amount of money my card allows me to withdraw lol) Alright, I was pissed, he was rude and treating me very bad, I decided leave. It was a good end, for cheaper I found a nice hotel serving breakfast. There is a plenty of better options near this place or near the shopping malls. DON'T STAY IN THIS PLACE!!!

NOT Worth The Price Paid
Stayed there for a night recently. The only reason for the 2 stars rating was bcos of location. If you're calling this a budget hotel....You have to be kidding me !! Paid a 3 - 4 star Hotel price (NOT public holiday) for a small room which needed to share bathroom in the common area. Worst was after lathering up during bath, the water supply STOPPED !! It was horrific. There was totally not a single drop of water coming out from the shower. Waited for almost 20 minutes before some small little flow came back. Room doesn't have air-con remote. When asked for it, the owner asked me to share with other rooms as he has handed out a couple of them. What the hell ?? Am I supposed to hunt for the remote from other rooms ??!! I stayed in the room on the 1t floor. WiFi >> useless no mather connecting to the ground or 1st floor WiFi. It started to rain around 11pm. When I returned to the room around 1am, I was shocked to discover puddles of water next to the bed (a blessing ??). My shoes and bag were wet. The ceiling was LEAKING throughout the rain. OMG !! My other friends were staying next door (Wayfarer) and they were 100% satisfied. Rooms were nicer, shower was great and WiFi was superb. SAME PRICE !! Apologies....I will never return or recommend this hotel or B&B.
