If you are travelling by air, the nearest airport is the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (IATA: KUL, ICAO: WMKK) is an international airport, which located in Sepang, Selangor. Both terminals, KLIA and KLIA2 airport, are located about 4 hours from the homestay. Driving to Kuantan is a pleasant drive with the view of the lush green rainforest, just a mere 4 hours from Kuala Lumpur. The Karak Highway and East Coast Expressway connect Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur, and the distance of approximately 250 km can be covered in 3-3.5 hours. The East Coast. You may exit at either the Gambang or Kuantan exit. Both expressways are toll roads to travel the entire journey via the expressways costs RM27.60 for a car. Federal route 2 also links Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan. As it is an ordinary road, it has no toll. However, it is a somewhat slower route than the expressway as there are traffic lights along the way and a lower speed limit.

Kuantan - Kuantan is the capital city of the state of Pahang on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. In the centre, the modern Sultan Ahmad Shah State Mosque features 5 domes adorned with blue geometric patterns, plus 4 towering minarets. To the east, seafront Taman Teruntum park includes a landscaped garden and the Mini Zoo. Nearby Teluk Cempedak is a surf beach with a raised walkway. Kuantan is known to tourists for its waterfalls. The most well-known is the Sungai Pandan Waterfall. Two others are the Sungai Berkelah Waterfall and the Jerangkang Waterfall. There are four parks in the city, the Gelora Park, Teruntum Mini Zoo, Gambang Safari Park and Agriculture Park at Indera Mahkota. A small park across the main road (and next to the river) in front of the Hospital is named the Esplanade Park or Downtown Kuantan. Here, it is possible to go on a river cruise from the small jetty. Teluk Chempedak - Teluk Chempedak is well-known simply as T.C. by the locals, Teluk Chempedak is the closest beach attraction for the city of half-a-million dwellers. Hence, it is not uncommon to see the beach is filled with evening strollers, kite flyers, windsurfers and even swimmers. Teluk Chempedak can be considered to be very fashionable. The beach itself is rather average, with run-of-the-mill beach sands and somewhat murky waters. Taking on the prime spot is a McDonald's outlet which has recently been renovated to feature bigger dining areas and fresh al fresco design in a brightly painted building. Right before the entrance to Hyatt Regency Resort is another popular outlet called Palm Beach Bistro housed in a fancy thatched-roof café fronting the beautiful beach. Further from the beach are a number of eateries and nightclubs housed in a row of old shophouses that have been tastefully renovated.
