Tawau? Don't look any further /stopover für Naturliebhaber
OK, ein Aufenthalt in Tawau kann auch wunderbar sein. Thinking of an memorable overnight in Tawau? Yes Tawau can. With only 40min drive you are there. 100% Self-contained, pure Eco friendly and lovely people who care for you as if you would belong to them since ever. In nur 40 Min kannst Du Dich im Mangrovengebiet zwischen Tawau und Sempona zur Ruhe betten. Eine Eco Lodge inmitten der größten shrimp Farm der Ostküste awaits you with self grown vegetables, meals with fish catches of the day and nature, nature, nature! Und der Airport Transfer is reliable in time there upon arrival. Ruf einfach an, just call them. The rooms are having all the amenities you might need except of a telephone and WiFi is quite slow. A SIM card is advisable. The family running the place cares for you personally. It is a very warm, come back place. If you are keen to stay a bit longer you can jump into one of their dive boats and go to Sempona dive sites like Kapalai and others directly right from there. The river is connected to the sea. Even health seekers are welcomed in their research center. Plus, you do not have to stay in ugly, dirty Tawau.

Very friendly people
They upgraded us and were super friendly!! Food was great! Rooms were super clean and the resort is very nicely done! We definetely advice for a couple of nights in a more quiet environment than noisy Semporna.

Wonderful stay!
We were picked up by resort staff from the airport and driven through palm oil plantations, prawn farms and mangroves for approx 40mins before arriving at the resort. The resort has a number of cabins, a reception area and large dining room on the river. We were though a little surprised to find we were the only guests! After slight concerns we settled in and thoroughly enjoyed our private resort. All staff were extremely attentive and helpful with prompt service of anything we required, it was great, nothing was too much and we felt like royalty! We did a couple of day trips which were provided by the resort including their boats, again service second to none and we even had an armed police escort when we attended Mabaul island and another close island which is standard procedure to ensure safety of the guests! We stayed for 3 nights and yes recommend to anyone, yes the chef cooked up the fish we caught on our fishing trip for us, (oh yes and other guests did arrive part way through our stay which I might add was disappointing having to share the plentiful staff!!). Thanks Sipadan Mangrove Resort.

Day Trip
It's a great location. But could be better if more activities are available. We went for r the boat ride which was suppose to leave at 4:30 but we requested for 2:00 because it is a 1 hour ride and 5:30 is abit late for us to drive back. Mayb this is why we didn't get to see the crocodiles. This place is only 1 hour drive from Tawau. Overall a good experience!

Most Relaxing Vacation
Our recent 5 night stay at the Sipadan Mangrove Resort was wonderful and relaxing! We were picked up at the Tawau Airport and drove about 45 minutes to the resort. They are expanding and repairing some of the roads, so it was a little slow and bumpy at times. The resort is a magical hideaway surrounded by oil plantations, fish farms and mangroves and is on the Kalumpang River. We had a large, air conditioned cabin with a king size bed, cathedral ceiling, sitting area, desk, small refrigerator and floor to ceiling windows with sliding doors out to a deck. There was also a separate changing room/closet. Mei and Azree made all our reservations for activities, took care of all our requests and made us feel right at home. They were so wonderful, and all the people who work there treated us like family! All of your meals are included, so you don't have to think about where to go. Fishing, diving, snorkeling and the river cruise leave right from the resort boat dock, and the prices are very reasonable. The boats are clean, comfortable and well run. Aziz was our boat captain. He's like the fish whisperer! If there wasn't any fish within ten minutes, we moved to another spot. We had so much fun, we booked a second trip! The resort chef cooked the fresh fish we caught for lunch and dinner combined with fresh vegetables and rice, and all our meals began with a different freshly made cup of soup. He is outstanding at cooking fish, and all the meals were delicious with very generous portions! At night, we would relax by the bar where there is a large, flat screen TV. Every morning and around dinner time the long-tailed Macaques would come out to greet us hoping for food. We got some great photos! We also did a three-tank dive at Mabul and Kapalai. The dive master was patient and wonderful. The resort fixed a yummy lunch for us to eat on the boat before our third dive. It was a great day! My husband also enjoyed a couple of relaxing massages. I can honestly say it was the most relaxing place we've stayed since we weren't running around sightseeing and had plenty of down time. We already miss the friends we made there!
