Got the chance staying in upper room, the view is very good, facing the mountain. Toilet is quite smelly when we first entered, not sure why. The pillow and blanket had a weird smell, like massage oil? Hot shower working great. TV channel had like 4-5 channels only. The road is quite steep, if you're not used to drive in small road, ask your friend who can. Only maggi cup and drinks were sell at the receptionist. So, better tapau or get takeaway dinners before you settled in. Overall is good, if you're kind of person who likes quiet place, away from city, this is the place.
5.9
The ambience and overlooking view is lovely, however the room for two was too small with huge bed and the toilet is too close to the bed. Felt so uncomfortable laying on the bed with the toilet located just next to you. The room looks like maid or gardener quarters. I think the price of the room was far too expensive with that shoe box size room. With that kind of price we expected meals to be provided like bed and Breakfast concept. I believe if meals provided will add value to the business.
8.5
Room a bit old but still consider clean. overall a comfortable stay.

Basic and no frills
We stayed in the family room. Nothing to shout about. 2 king beds with an attached toilet and shower. Room is very clean and beds are soft with 2 hard spongy pillows. If you are not staying in the 2 cottages that is available, then the rooms are just a normal budget room. Opt for the cottages if you can and if not, just stay at another hotel.

Starlight Rooms, just like another (budget) hotel room, for THE Jim Thompson history experience, choose the bungalow
This review is for the Starlight Rooms as I stayed there. In general, the room is clean and basic, absolutely nothing to shout about. Unfortunately, you wont feel anything "related" to the history of Jim Thompson at all, but instead, you'll feel like you're in just another budget hotel room. (If you want to feel somewhat linked to the history of Jimmy boy, Moonlight/Sunlight Bungalow is the one to rent.) Anyway, the bed is large, but the pillow is not that great as its abit spongy and hard. Basic amenities are there, without aircond or fan (not that you need it). Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking spots are limited, you might need to park by the roadside if you have to. But nice garden and scenery, really quiet and peaceful surrounding. The roads leading there is abit narrow, so be careful around the bends. Just remember to give a honk so that other oncoming cars know youre coming.

VERY SIMPLE BUT NICE
The hotel is quite confusing as it is obviously using several "names". The hotel itself is very simple, the rooms are a bit oldish, but we did like it. I had the feeling that the hotel is for sale, the staff was not very helpful or organized, but they were friendly and polite. It is located between Tahan Rata and Brinchange - so you have to have a car here - which makes all interessting places quite handy.

Awesome environment
The entire area highlights are the location, the view, the gardening and the building. They are perfect and marvellous. It's juz another option of stay here other than normal accommodate. The lady manager in charge is helpful and nice. But be sure juz don't too much critic with the rooms.
