Very clean budget hotel
Room with twin beds MYR 97.00 per night. Very clean room and bathroom. Our room was on the 2nd floor which is really the top floor of the hotel. The hotel is walking distance to the town centre. There is a 24 hour cheap restaurant just beside the hotel. The main bus and ferry terminals are also within walking distance. The only downside for us was there was only one hot water dispenser near the reception area on the ground floor and it was switched off. We had to turn it on and later it was again switched off. There is an ironing board on the ground floor too. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Cheap, dirty
We stayed overnight at Sweet Hotel in order to catch the ferry in the next morning from Mersing to Tioman. It's about 10min walk from the bus terminal (Singapore-Mersing) to this motel. We checked in around 12am midnight. The check in process was fast, wifi password is written on the key but it didn't work. The room is very basic. The bed sheets are very dirty. With stains and hair on it. I basically have to cover myself with my clean clothes to avoid contact with the bed sheet. It's advisable to bring a sleeping bag before you sleep on the bed. Bathroom is very basic. Towels are too dirty to use as it's quite apparent they use them for floor as well. But honestly, cannot complain too much as it costs only SGD29 per night. There aren't many accommodation in Mersing so just bear with it.

Clean but basic. Bring earplugs.
I first stayed here in May 2015 when my dive group could not get a ferry to Tioman and had to spend the night in Mersing. My first impression was that for a basic hotel, it was very clean, and reasonably new. I booked it again in August 2016 for 1 night. We booked the night before the day we departed, and checked in really late at about 1 am. To our dismay, the hotel told us that there was no reservation (we booked and paid in full on Agoda) and tried to charge us for a room. I insisted that I have already booked and paid and they called the proprietor whom we met earlier and left but thankfully came back. As I had the voucher with me they could not dispute the booking, only to say that they did not receive it on their end. They gave us 2 rooms, which were bigger than what we had booked and the issue was resolved. The room they gave us was for 4 and was HUGE. It's really a very rustic kind of place, the sheets weren't particularly clean but for a night's stay it was reasonably comfortable. As others have mentioned it is next to the road so if you are a light sleeper do bring ear plugs. There was a coffee shop right next to the hotel where we could order Indian roti for supper. All in all it was a pleasant stay and somewhere you could consider if you need to spend the night in Mersing.

Basic accommodation
This hotel is basic and noisy, due to the location next to the main road and the very thin walls. So basically, you will hear every single noise from the corridor. The room was small, but quite clean. Unfortunately, we are afraid that they are not many alternatives in Mersing. So if you stay only one night its okay.

Basic but clean but very noisy rooms on the main road!
Room was clean but the lorries and motorbikes driving past all through the night meant we hardly got any rest at all! We asked to change rooms but were told none others available... There are plenty of hotels nearer the jetty that would be much quieter! Better option for overnight in Mersing!
