How to Get to the Majestic Malacca

A drive from Kuala Lumpur will take about two hours to reach Melaka city centre. The Majestic Malacca is located across the Malacca river, just about ten minutes from the city centre. For those who do not want to drive, take an express bus from the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, Kuala Lumpur to Melaka Sentral. A bus ticket to Melaka starts from as low as RM 11 for a trip. The Melaka Sentral is just ten minutes away from the Majestic Malacca. Take a taxi from Melaka Sentral to go to the Majestic Hotel but make sure to take the taxis that will be using a meter to calculate the fare.

Different Types of Room in the Majestic Malacca

The Majestic Malacca only has two types of room in its building. Each and every room are luxuriously designed and furnished that would give the guests the utmost comfort. The first room at the Majestic Malacca is a Deluxe-type of the room with a 35-sqm space. The room has an option to have either a Double-sized bed or two Twin-sized beds. The Deluxe room has an open concept, with sturdy and comfortable furniture such as a writing desk and a chair, together with a sitting area and a coffee table. The Deluxe has its own private bathroom that is divided by a wooden sliding door that can open fully. It is RM 532 a night.

Another type of the room at the Majestic Malacca is also a Deluxe room, but it comes with a choice of two Twin-sized beds or a Double-sized bed. This room is also a 35-sqm space. For its RM 627 for a night price tag, the room has its own luxurious facilities that are different from the other rooms such as high-speed internet and turndown service among others. There is also a separate sitting room inside the bedroom, complete with a couple of armchairs and a coffee table. The private bathroom in this Deluxe type of room has a separate hot water shower and a deep soaking bathtub.

All of the rooms in the Majestic Malacca have the same basic in-room amenities such as complimentary bottled water, a coffee/tea maker set and a minibar. There is also a television set with cable channels and a DVD player.

Here, visitors will get the chance to observe how a typical Malay family lived in the 20th century. The museum still has its original furniture and tableware that are from the last century. Learn about the history of the family and the house where this little museum is located. The museum is free to enter, but it is recommended to leave some donations, as the owner does not receive any funding in running it.
