Bedbugs!!!
First off all the pictures on any site do not meet the real experience. It is a little older and more worn down, but a fine enough place for a backpacker. It's a little overpriced. After one night sleep we found a bedbug in our bed. We already paid fo 3 nights a head and when we claimed that we didn't want to sleep here any more they where very helpful and understanding, it looked like they deal with these request very often!!! They claim that they have pesticide operations every month, but I doubt it!

affordable and comfortable but ...
I love the service and facilities. Their room prices are cheap, and the rooms (and lobby) are spacious. Free breakfast! The staff was accommodating and warm but there were: - dust on my bed (probably falling from the ceiling) - too dark/dim lighting - mosquitoes in the morning and they bite - the toilet was semi-automatic; had to manually fill the tank with water before you can flush

Bedbugs
Unfortunately we stayed in this place for 2 nights and we got really badly bitten by bed bugs. I had to go to hospital to get injection 'cause got so hard allergic reaction. When we were saying about it to resepction they just said sorry and which bed? It seemed that they weren't going to do anythig about it.

Semi-Tropical Vibe but the bed...
To start with is its amazing location. Waterfront, temples, museums, bus stands to Bako, burger stall are just downstairs and the coin dobby service is just next door. The staff is really helpful with managing my bookings for a kayak adventure trip and also my trip to the Rainforest World Music Festival. The lounge area is a good place to spend the day of just chilling and maybe read a book. Breakfast is just toast and some coffee which is totally fine with me, considering the price that I paid for my stay there. The price is cheaper if you book it online. I have only one complaint. I am not sure about this but I got bitten by bed bugs a couple of times throughout the night. Or it was mosquitoes? I'm not sure, to be on the safe side, wear long sleeves and long pants to bed.

Wonderful Hostel
I just loved this place, and the staff! This hostel is just simple, it looks like a tropical lodge =D! it's clean, enough space to relax, air cond and fans in the dorm, patio, lockers, lounge confortable, with books and magazines. The staff is just amazing, and friendly like never i seen in Malaysia before. They are always happy to help you and advice you for anything you want. They also purpose guiding tour, bikes and stuff. Really well located, close to everything you need, and waterfront. I recommend!
