Nice environment
Room cleanliness: the room, linen and toilet are all clean Room comfort: the bed is too soft for me and my family, we would prefer it to be harder Breakfast: Thai laksa was nice, bread selection was not good, no freshly brewed coffee available. Overall local Malaysian food tasted good. Location: hotel location is good, very near to the Portugese settlement where you can get very nice and fresh seafood. There's also an art galley in the hotel by autistic artist :)

Value for money
The hotel was clean and nice.. the environment was peaceful and quiet.. the staff were friendly. Portuguese square is a mere 10min minute walk.. definitely recommended for a relaxing trip.. Breakfast could have been better. Not much variety..

Great atmosphere & comfort bed
Actually I heard this hotel from here (trip advisor) and since there are so many positive reviews posted, I tend to give it a try myself. The answer is : Yes, it worths the positive reviews. I stayed at this hotel with my wife during the Malaysia holiday. The location of this hotel is not far away from the tourist area, but not walking distance either. It's actually an advantage. I therefore being there without suffering traffic jam. Check-in smoothly and the receptionist greet us with sincere smile and even lead us to the room and brief the room facilities to us. Furthermore, they send us a envelopment with an appreciation letter inside. It's so warm~ The room is clean & the bed is so comfort. Overall, u will love this hotel for sure~ I promise.

A hidden gem
The kids were excited and looking forward to the trip. They had already checked out the hotel on the Internet and recognized the villas as soon as we parked the car. The minute we set foot on the garden,we knew we were onto something good..the lawn was immaculate, with a variety of plants and trees and in every corner, you see something different.. an old pot here and a flowering bush there. The landscape is not the typical kind you see everywhere and you realize that someone has gone to great lengths to make this garden special .A mother bird feeding her 2 babies was perched on a tree oblivious of us passing by. The dip pool next to the spa/library looked inviting especially in the sweltering heat. We made our way to the reception and was greeted by staff who were professional, friendly and welcoming. We were offered cold towels and drinks while waiting for our keys. Our room on the 3rd floor was huge. The hotel had upgraded us. Furnishing was simple and elegant and the bathroom was clean and nice. Towels were plush and white and the bed was comfortable. The kids were housed in the villas as they wanted a kampung feel. We discovered many interesting things while exploring the hotel ... the exquisitely carved wooden day bed located near the front office was 100 years old. Some of the floor tiles at the entrance of the hotel came from a mosque. A small wooden kampong house in one part of the garden was a guard house in the olden days, There is even an art gallery which showcases the works of an autistic child. The entire hotel is adorned with beautiful paintings on the walls ...on every floor and on the staircases ...all collections of the owners. We loved the fountains, the chairs with the birds and the many birdcages spread all over the hotel . There is also this one piece table top made from a single tree trunk ...which can seat 28 ppl at least ...so beautiful and rare . The many ornaments, vases and pots from the different cultures and periods found in the hotel we were told are all collectibles of the owners. There is a good mix of old and modern which breaks the monotony. The rooftop of the hotel has a view of the sea. There is another beautiful fountain here and plump wooden fishes hang on the walls, In one corner is another birdcage. We had BBQ and hawker food here on a Saturday night and the place was transformed. A "starry night" from the twinkling hanging lights. Music and song filled the air and everyone, old and young had a great time singing and dancing. Nice food and great organization and service ! The hotel staff were also very helpful in suggesting places to visit. The hotel shuttle dropped us off at Jonker Walk and we had a good time exploring the shops. The night river cruise was also good. One should try nyonya food while in Malacca and also the kueh and cendol. Another interesting place is the Portuguese settlement which is located near the hotel. This trip was so enjoyable for us . The hotel was so tastefully furnished and clean, it's staff were great, service was good, food yummy and we all had a good time . The hotel is small ...I think 49 rooms only but big in terms of service . The staff are friendly and accommodating. It's a nice place to stay and the kids especially had a whale of a time. We will be back. This trip was
