Im having a good stay here. Everything is good..The food, their swimming pool, facilities everything in good condition. But there is a small little problem which there is a mosquito at night in your room. Tiara Hotel have provided the insect killer but still have to be careful especially those family with kids.

Overall staff service was excellent - Before check-in we received a call & was notified of the upgrade from 2-Bedrooms Suite to 3-Bedrooms Suite for us & that was a nice surprise. Upon check-in we were met with very friendly staff especially one by the name of Angela & she handled our check-in rather smoothly. 1st impression upon driving into the hotel was a wow to my whole family. 2nd wow was when we saw the surroundings & the pool area. 3rd wow was when we check-in to our 3-Bedrooms Suite at the Victoria Mansion immediately next to the hotel. Though the unit was a bit dated it will be good for the hotel to plan a little improvement work on some of the wear & tears. Time at the pool with the family was so fun & again the staff from Cheers where we ordered our bucket of beers, some ciders & fries were very friendly & gave us very good service. One of them who served us even help brought some mosquito repellent for us. Sadly we noticed a broken glass at the side of the pool left by inconsiderate guest who did not inform the hotel to clear but fortunately none of the broken glasses did drop inside the pool - & we had the staff to help us remove it instantly. Next morning my wife & I went for a stroll at the beach which was just in-front of the hotel. After that my family & I went for our buffet breakfast & we all enjoyed all the varieties that were available for us. Staff service there again was quite flawless. So overall my family & I especially my wife (the birthday girl) enjoyed ourselves very much & we so enjoyed our stay that we booked us a place again with their staff, Angela & this time the 5-Bedrooms Suite for our next trip which is this coming Dec 2017. Keep it up Tiara Hotel & do upgrade those wear & tears as that will help you get even better reviews & stars. In-fact our rating for you is actually 3.5 stars but you receive 4 stars from us because we were rather happy with the overall service of your staff.

Overnight Stay Labuan
The initial impression of the Tiara Labuan on arrival was good, a hotel front close to the beach and approx 30mins walking from downtown Labuan. On arrival the staff just excused that the rooms are not ready 1600hrs and didn't offer any refreshing drinks or explained how long the wait?!? The walkway from the room 423 to the restaurant was like an obstacle course over stored excess chairs and partition, ect. Pool looked nice and a nice gym too. Food is quite average nothing special from a Bolognese dinner with no available cheese, to breakfast which was in the same area with offshore personnel in their working coveralls??? The room layout and design was very nice and the bed comfort was awesome. The room in general is in need for maintenance from water stained walls, to leaking taps and TV remotes with flat batteries. Surprisingly one of the Samsung TV might have been a hit in the 1980 but they have since invented flat screen TV's. Staff to busy doing their thing and not overly concerned to assist in visitor’s needs. Neighbouring rooms are poorly insulated and can follow their proceeding throughout the stay... Wifi available throughout the hotel but the room wifi was limited and constantly disconnects.

Tired hotel
Guess it was nice in it’s day but now it is pretty tired and in need of renovation. 2 bedroom suite was large but old fashioned. Floorboard broken, shower guard falling off and a few dead cockroaches showed it isn’t cleaned very well. Breakfast ‘started’ at 6.30 but hardly anything out at that time. Friendly staff how were as helpful as they could be.

Pleasant enough stay
Labuan is not a tourist island in the traditional sense but is very much geared up as a service provider for the oil industry. Therefore arriving on the ferry, encountering the one way road system with very few road directional signs it was pot luck and instinct as to how to get to the hotel. Eventually we were on the right road and found the hotel which happens to be in a very good location. Quiet with sea views and decent beaches. The hotel itself has a good car park which makes life easier not having to worry where you are going to leave your car if you have been off for the day. In its heyday the Tiara must have been a very popular and upmarket place to stay but right now those heydays are long gone and the hotel is tired looking. However the staff try their best to serve you in a very professional manner and see to your needs. The bedroom is large almost a suite with a lounge, kitchen area, bedroom and bathroom but again it has that tired very dated appearance of better days. Although we asked for a non-smoking room it was very apparent when we entered that the room we had been allocated was a smoking one. Stressing our concern the staff member who saw us to our room immediately rang reception to get us relocated apologising for a 10 minute delay while they sought it out. Sure enough we were then escorted to another room which smelt very much of air freshener and assured non smoking. Clearly it was not as the freshener was here to mask the smell but it would do as the staff had gone to some trouble too cater to our needs. It was this courteous behaviour that we encountered throughout our stay. Happy to oblige, would try our very best but somehow not quite managing it. The restaurants decor is dated with a limited choice on the menu both dinner and breakfast. What is prepared is adequate, you will not starve but what I would describe as functional food rather than appetising to the eye and to the palate. As a tourist to the island I can understand that our needs were very different from one who was visiting here for work. Our stay was a pleasant one but it just felt like we had stepped back into the 1970's.
