Snorkling at the beach of this resort is a must!
Location of the resort is a little inconvenient, but the resort does provide their own speedboat pick up. We were disappointed when we reach our room it was very messy, the staffs told us the monkeys must had went into the room. At first we didn't believe they have Monkeys, until we saw a group of monkey playing outside of our room. The highlight of my stay had to be snorkeling at the beach, the corals were so beautiful. It was so peaceful just floating in the water and watch the sunset. There are so many fishes and sea creatures at the beach, we saw a few baby sharks swimming in the water. It was a great stay, however the resort is closed from Oct to Feb, but we are planning to visit again next year.

Good choice
we just visited last week Monday - Friday and we {family 2 kids 13 an 10 years) really liked it. its not a huge resort, staff are all very helpful and friendly. We got a free upgrade to a beach view family villa and the rooms are nice and clean. please note there is only WIFI at the lobby and if you are using MAXIS, there is no coverage.(we got a little bit WIFI at our room cause it was next to the lobby but really weak reception) Breakfast was plenty to choose from and they only had a "buffet type" of breakfast on the busy days which I like cause no food was wasted, the less busier days we could order whatever we wanted a la card. lunch and dinner was only a la card and prices are RM30-RM 60 per meal but the portions are big so was okay. Kids enjoyed snorkeling, Billard and playing Volleyball every evening - if we didn't have enough people the staff joined that was good fun. they also have a water dispenser where we could refill our bottles. I'd recommend also to walk to the waterfall, is a bit of a walk but its really nice for a change and once you reach to the top you can jump into the ice cold water.

Nice resort in Tioman
We have been at Tunamaya the last August for a diving holiday. The resort is very well managed and rooms are equivalent to a 4 stars hotel. Dining options are enough for a week stay and quality is very good. There is a diving centre within the resort. They usually do 2/3 dives per day. The diving is managed professionally by friendly and very nice people dedicated to work. Dives are spectacular and most of them only require open water certification. Very nice experience thank you so much to the staff.

Unfulfilled Poetential
Tioman is a stunning island with lush jungle/mountain views, white sands and turquoise water. The difficulty is getting there as it is quite a drive from KL to the ferry terminal and then the ferry (approx 2 hours) in which you are crammed into a dirty cabin with poor air-con. It is possible to fly by charter airline but this is very expensive (due to corruption), Malaysia it's time to stop this and let the main airlines fly here to show the beauty of your country! Once we finally got to the hotel by another private boat the resort appears beautiful...... unfortunately there is construction and the rooms were found to be very basic and no WiFi. Okay I can live with no WiFi in room but it was only available in the lounge and connection was very poor. The hotel only has one restaurant serving very average food. I would recommend the seafood platter as it was deliciously fresh and tasty (although I'm not sure why we had to order it two hours in advance?). The breakfast was lousy, under-cooked and not fresh. A plus point may be that this resort is very quiet (well it was on our 3 nights there). There are soooo many staff that they seriously outnumber the guests. I get that they live also on this resort but they freely wander through the resort in their free time, smoking, texting and chatting. Also during their shift you would find them standing about on their mobile phones and not attending to guests. Very poor professionalism. Tioman is fantastic for water activities:- swimming, snorkeling and diving. Unfortunately you are tied to use the resort facilities which are very overpriced I'm sorry to say. We had a very enjoyable time in Tioman but it could be something really special if you improve the flight schedule, train your staff better, serve nicer food with more choice. And don't try to 'trap' your customers in the resort.

Relaxing time
A quiet and tranquil resort. Good for a quick get away. Great place for snorkeling and diving. Friendly staff. Beautiful cottages facing the beach. Cottages are clean. AC stopped working couple of timed. Internet is not too good as it is a remote place. Food could be better.
