Best B&B
Stayed in Wayfarer for a couple of days. Good choice because it is centrally located, about 5 mins walk from Jonker St. So convenient when I had to come back for a quick rest from a hot day of walking around the city. Rooms are big, clean and well-maintained. As this is a family-run hotel, common areas have that cozy, comfy vibe. The owners are so kind and helpful, and I enjoyed chatting with them about life in the city. They offer free coffee and tea, which you enjoy in the common areas with a nice view of the river and the church of St Francis. Will definitely recommend to others and stay here again.

A little haven
This is a small family-run guesthouse with a very hospitable owner and lots of rustic charm. I stayed in two different rooms - both facing the river - and they were lovely. Not a great many modern touches - such as TV etc - but full of character, with lovely wooden floors, carved Chinese sliding doors and kettle with coffee/tea. The balcony was an especially good feature - just sit out there at night and watch the tourist boats going up and down, witness the vibrant night scene and just generally people watch. The shower's water pressure was good, and the room itself was clean and comfortable. The common area downstairs has seating at the rear where you can catch the river breeze and have tea/coffee and read. There's also a rather friendly cat. The owner/host - Madam Lian - was kindness itself. Very helpful and patient. Thanks ever so much for helping me book transport on the last day. All in, a place to feel at home in and definitely one to return to.

A place where you feel home
Love the spacious room and lounge area. Have to be ready for some noises as the building is old building that keep the feature of old houses, the floor of first floor is made of wood! But this was how I grew up! Ideal location as can walk to town in short distance. Enjoyable outside and inside guest house

Fantastic Place to Relax. Great Location Near Jonker Street.
The downstairs lounging area overlooking the river is wonderful. Teh Terek/White Coffee/Milo drink machine was used frequently. Hot tea and coffee available 24 hours a day. The room is basic but the bed was comfortable and we slept well. The rain shower was perfect after a day of exploring and the AC kept the room cool. Wifi worked well and all rooms are non-smoking. Room was kept very clean. Make sure you request that the room be cleaned each day. Great restaurant recommendations on their map. We paid RM20 to get a taxi from the bus station. We have already recommended this place to others we have met on our trip. Would definitely stay there again.

Home away from home.
The guest house is a family run unit and feels really homely and comfortable. The room we had was large and had views to the river and the church. The walls though are a tad thin and you can hear your fellow guest. Noise from the bar downstairs is also a bit of a problem if you are a light or early sleeper. But it still has the local flavor which makes it special.
