Perfect hotel for our one night stay. Front desk staff was welcoming and quickly told us everything we needed to know. Room was very clean, and bed was quite comfortable. Coffee and water (both hot and cold) were available in the breakfast area 24 hours a day. Hotel was about a 30+ min drive to TPE airport in morning rush hour traffic. Hotel close to 7-11 and a Domino’s Pizza as well which worked for a quick dinner.

I had a very brief, but wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express Taoyuan. I had arrived early to Taoyuan at 11AM, and although the official check-in time is at 3PM, the recepcionist (Ann, I think was her name) was kind enough to check with housekeeping to corroborate if a room was ready so that I could have an early check-in. Fortune was on my side and I had a quick and easy early check-in. The breakfast area is small, but offers a variety of Taiwanese and Western food items, with beverages like tea and coffee and some cookies available 24/7. If you are looking for a meal, nearby you will find restaurants (there is a Japanese grill right across the street) and the always trusty 7 Eleven. Carrefour is also some blocks away. The room was spacious enough for my stay, the bathroom (with bidet) and shower clean, and the shower also has a line to hang your clothing if you decide to wash it.
If you are gym rat, the hotel's fitness room is located on the second floor, but you won't find much equipment inside the small room: a treadmill, a stationary bike, a pair of light dumbbells, a grip trainer, a lacrosse massage ball, a mat, plenty of bottled water, towels, bathroom, and shower. Not sure if they have another fitness room for another guest to work out at the same time.
The staff at the front desk and at the breakfast service was kind and attentive. They even helped me call a taxi to the airport. Overall I would recommend this hotel to friends.

- The property was okay. It is old building so there was a bit mould in the bathroom.
- Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Gym area is not a gym area… only two pieces of equipment.
- The most painful part is you only can take taxi or Uber to the hotel. Bus is not very convenient.

Staff is very welcoming, Room design is good for 1 person, very tight space for 2 single beds. The frosted glass bathroom reflects light through out the entire room. Makes this tough for a couple that needs to use the facilities in the middle of the night. Shortage of bedside electrical plugs was difficult. We have stayed in several rooms over new years holiday. The hotel is a redo building in a Y shaped building with both sides facing traffic. Not for light sleepers. Even being in TaoYuan (airport city) is a misnomer because it is not actually that close. Cost to get to airport - no shuttle is NT$600 by taxi while Northern Taipei districts are NT$1000 mon a fly away express road There is a city bus to main rail station in Taipei for NT$71 across the road and decent convenience stores around.. If you can find availability, its probably easier to stay in Central (ZhongYang), Taipei Rail station, ZhongSan or NangGang districts

Everything you would expect at a Holiday Inn, plus great service.
Room is small but compensated with free breakfast and the bidet in the bathroom. It also isn't sound proof, both from a traffic sense as well as the door opening/closing & corridor conversations.
However it just feels like it's in the middle of no where! Well, situated amongst tyre shops and car mechanics! It's a good 20-30 minute cab ride to the HSR, and 10-20 minute to Taiyuan train station area.

Hotel is modern and carved out of a very tight urban triangle. It is convenient and walkable. Close to a city bus’to central Taipei main station. Service is exceptional as staff bend over backwards to make the best of the tight space. The rooms are standard floor print for intl HEI new builds. The bathroom is completely frosted glass, so when the light comes on, everyone in the room is woken up. Not conducive to shared space. The rooms facing BOTH front streets can be noisy at night. Light sleepers should opt for very high floor. The breakfast room was overflowing an hour before cut off. Good for short stays.
