Bellanca Hotel

This was my first time going to Catalina. Normally I don’t spend $500-600 per night on a hotel, unless I’m staying at the Westin in Maui. This is a very cute, clean, boutique style hotel, but I feel like it was too expensive for what we got. The positives about this hotel are that it’s right across the street from the water, has a cute rooftop deck, offers beach chairs, and beach cruiser bicycles, and the bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. The downside is that there’s no soundproofing whatsoever so you can hear every noise from your neighbor flushing, their toilet to kids stomping up and down the stairs at all hours and running around and yelling and screaming. The good news is that everybody seemed to respectfully observe quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM. The hotel restaurant has good food. I had the crabcake eggs Benedict and they were some of the best crabcakes I’ve ever had. The first day our female server was phenomenal. The second day our male server wasn’t too great. The bartenders are smug and unfriendly, so I only went to the bar one time and went elsewhere the rest of the time. The front desk staff is easily accessible, helpful and friendly. If it were $350 per night, I would definitely return to this hotel but I don’t think I would stay here again if it were above that price point. I’d rather stay somewhere with soundproof rooms or a private condo that comes with a golf cart.

Found hairs in restrooms toilet was not cleaned well. Shower tiles grout and seal of areas were yellowed and exposed cracks. Maybe lazy cleaning crew not sure. Drywall cracks that should be fixed. Room 107. The coffee pod are no good and a bit old maybe. The should try Pete’s Major Dickason’s blend.

We enjoyed our stay at the Blanca. It was very convenient to all of the activities that I wanted to participate in. The air conditioner worked great, and our stay was quite comfortable.

Very nice hotel, close to everything!

Every time we visit Catalina, we make sure to stay at this place. It’s one of our absolute favorites! After our wedding, we decided to have a mini moon because our big honeymoon to Thailand isn’t until January. So, my husband suggested that as long as we stay at Bellanca, I’m all set for a mini moon in Catalina.

I was extremely disappointed with our room location. The hotel placed our room in the worst possible location. It was advertised as a "courtyard view," but in reality, it was tucked away in the far back corner of the property, right next to what appeared to be a staff maintenance or maid’s shack. It felt like we were placed in a four-walled box with zero atmosphere or comfort. The only window in the room looked directly at a blank wall—no natural light, no view, nothing remotely resembling a courtyard. When I brought the issue up and politely requested a room change, I was told no other rooms were available, despite the hotel not appearing fully booked. It felt like we were given the leftover room no one else wanted. The location of the hotel itself was convenient, which is the only real positive I can mention. However, this does not compensate for the inaccurate description of the room and the lack of consideration for a legitimate concern. I paid for a "courtyard room," not a gloomy corner with a view of a wall and a utility shed. The description was deceptive and conveyed a sense of deceit. Overall, I left feeling frustrated and dissatisfied.

Had an amazing stay!

Room was a little small, therefore had no table and chairs. No place to sit. Did enjoy the outdoor overlook/patio.

Overall, a great stay.

We stayed in a cabana room with a balcony and loved it! Great room, great bed and great location! My only complaint is that was no Internet. * they do offer free internet but it does not work and there the service on the island itself is spotty.

Outstanding place clean and quiet

Hotel staff was friendly, rooms were clean and location was perfect for what we were after. Close to shopping and restaurants.

We were given wrong room without balcony. Very noisy. The sharp plastic bed frame cut our leg and sent us to the ER. Restaurant staff poor. Upper view deck was wonderful.

Staff were helpful, professional & kind. Our room was clean & comfortable. Air condition ing was great for comfortable sleeping & cooling off on hot days! Our room was by the stairs which could get noisy at times! Keep in mind if you need quiet peaceful reading time.
