Description: SeaWorld Ancol educates you about underwater life in a spacious aquarium area in Jakarta.
Taman Impian Jaya Ancol is one of the most popular theme parks near the coast of Jakarta. It is famous for having SeaWorld Ancol, a giant marine park that combines education, entertainment, and conservation efforts. The marine park has around 48 freshwater species, 138 seawater species, and four water reptile species. SeaWorld Ancol has a massive area that consists of 28 display tanks and four open pools. You need to plan the visit properly to have a fun and convenient trip. Here are five tips to properly enjoy the SeaWorld.

The best thing about SeaWorld is being able to see underwater creatures up-close. However, it can be difficult when the place is packed because SeaWorld is a popular holiday destination. Its operating hours are from 09.00 to 18.00, so make sure you visit early (especially on weekend or national holidays).
Encourage the Children’s Curiosity
SeaWorld is a great place to encourage your children’s curiosity in marine life and underwater creatures. Don’t hesitate to explore interesting spots such as Magic Aquarium and Interactive Aquarium. Help them reading the available information or explain it to them. You should not miss the chance to interact with animals in the interactive zone. Encourage your children to touch animals that they may only see in the books, movies, or videos. SeaWorld has interactive pools that allow guests to touch sea turtles, starfish, and small (harmless) sharks.
Know How to Take Good Pictures
Like any other holiday destinations, SeaWorld allows guests to take pictures and records. You should bring a good camera to capture the memories. However, when you are in the aquarium zone, make sure to turn off the blitz. The light will reflect on the glass and reduce the quality of your picture. The Antasena Tunnel is the main feature of SeaWorld. It is a long, underwater walkway that makes you feel like living in an undersea world. The most favorite background in this tunnel is the shark or manta ray. Therefore, try timing your selfie to capture the shark or manta ray swimming behind as the background.
Plan Your Exploration
All the tanks and pools at SeaWorld are divided into 18 zones. You should plan your time and exploration so you can see everything. Don’t hesitate to ask the staff about the most interesting zones to visit and their special features.
Recommended Zones at SeaWorld
Each zone at SeaWorld gives you interesting displays and activities. Some of the most recommended ones are:
Antasena Tunnel is the main attraction of SeaWorld. The tunnel is 80m long and built under saltwater that mimics the sea. There is an elevator under the tunnel to take you to the “deep sea” zone.
Main Aquarium is the main zone of SeaWorld outside the Antasena Tunnel. This is where guests can see various fish and corals up-close. You can watch divers feed the fish at specific schedules.
Beware Piranha is one of the newest SeaWorld tanks that consists of 2,000 piranhas. You can see the staff feeding these fish, using a stopwatch to show how fast they can finish their food.
Jelly Sphere is a darkened zone full of spherical tanks. They are filled with jellyfish of various sizes and colors, floating gently in a hypnotic way.
Otter Track is a special enclosure for otters, which are not common species in Indonesia. These mammals are very sleek and elegant when in the water.
Shark Aquarium is a large, circular tank inhabited only by sharks. You can learn about various species of sharks, their habits, and their foods.
SeaWorld Ancol is a great place to learn about underwater life while having fun. Make it your holiday destination if you don’t know where to travel with your family in Jakarta.
