Lake Ashi and Hakone Shrine
Lake Ashi is the largest lake in Kanagawa Prefecture and is a volcanic lake located on Mount Hakone. It is a popular tourist attraction to see Mount Fuji from a distance. The Hakone Shrine's landmark is the red Torii gate that stands on Lake Ashi. The highlights of Hakone are the Hakone Pirate Ship, the sightseeing boat on Lake Ashi, and the Pirate Ship. The three pirate ships are the Victory, the second-generation Southern European Royal Sun, and the Queen Ashiko. The Victory debuted in 2007, with 500 passengers on the 3rd level, and is modeled after the 18th-century British iconic battleship "Victory." The Royal Sun, which debuted in 2013 with 565 people on the 4th level, is based on the French flagship battleship "Royal Louis," and features several crew figures and steering wheel decorations. The first trip of Queen Ashi Lake in 2019 demonstrates traditional elegance in terms of color, material, and design, with 541 passengers on the 4th level and the golden hull above the blue waves. It is Lake Ashi's most deluxe cruise ship. Suggested Route: Hakone—Machi Port—Motohako—Machi Port takes around 10 minutes and costs JP¥1,200 (one way)
