What are the differences between the Ordinary Car and the Green Car?

For those wanting a more efficient, cheaper, and easy trip, the Ordinary Car offers great value. With the Ordinary Car, you don't have to reserve seats before you get on the train, making transfer between trains much easier. However, since the passengers are not required to reserve a seat before boarding, the Ordinary Car can be a bit more crowded than the Green Car.

Travel comfortably on Ordinary cars with 2+3 or 2+2 seating layouts

Meanwhile, if you want more comfort on the train, Green Car is the right choice for you. Marked with the green clover symbol, the Green Cars of the train offer more spacious seating with bigger legroom for you to travel in comfort. All seats must be reserved before boarding, which can be done at the JR ticket office and are only available after you redeem your JR Pass. You can also ride on both the Green Car and the Ordinary Car, while with the Ordinary Car pass, you can only take the Ordinary Car.

Before completing your purchase, make sure you have inputted your full name correctly according to your passport.

What should I do after purchase?

Shortly after your purchase, the supplier will contact you via WhatsApp within 24 hours to confirm your purchase and discuss pick-up time and date at the nearest supplier's office in your city.

Pick-up are available in Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, Tangerang (BSD), Bandung, Medan, Surabaya, and Bali.

You can collect the Exchange Order (MCO) personally, arrange an instant courier, or request the supplier to arrange one for an additional fee.

How to use JR Pass in Japan?

Upon receiving your Exchange Order (MCO), ensure to keep it safe and bring it with you to Japan. This Exchange Order (MCO) must be exchanged for the actual JR Pass at the JR Exchange Office within 90 days of booking.

At the JR Exchange Office, present your passport, Exchange Order (MCO), and complete the form, indicating the date you intend to start using your JR Pass. You have the flexibility to choose any date within 30 days of receiving the JR Pass to commence its usage.

The staff in Indonesia, really guided me well until I understood the step for exchanging JR pass in Japan. And for staff in japan, they truly nice and helpful for the first timer like me. they inform me of every detail about using the JR pass. I recommend you exchange your JR as soon as you arrive in Haneda because the staff can speak English fluently and it's really helpful for foreigners like me who barely speak Japanese. because (in my experience) some JR staff in train stations cannot speak English as fluently as the airport staff. please read the regulations for using the Shinkansen well because there are some important stuff that we acknowledge as foreigners and could disturb others. so far all nice!
