DAY
- Make your own way to the JR Kanazawa Station Port (West) Exit (07:50)
- Hakusan Shirakawago White Road, Fukube no Otaki Waterfall, and Toganokidai (90 minutes)
- Sightseeing at Shirakawago and lunch, included (105 minutes)
- Sightseeing in Takayama, the Old Ginkgo Tree, and Hida Kokubunji Temple (75 minutes)
- Senbei (rice cracker) baking experience at Fukumitsu Sasaraya Senbei Store (30 minutes)
- End of tour at the JR Kanazawa Station Port (West) Exit (18:00)

What You’ll Experience

On this full-day tour, you will be taken on a scenic drive along mountains on the White Road passing through Hakusan National Park. You will have a Japanese-style meal of mountain delicacies in Shirakawago, a traditional town of Gassho-style houses surrounded by rice paddies, before sightseeing at Takayama. Lastly, experience making senbei, a Japanese snack baked in less than a minute on a wire grill while being flipped carefully with bamboo tongs.

Additional Information

This is a non-guided tour. However, if there are 10 or more participants, an English or Japanese-speaking driver (with English guidebooks) will be with the group.
Warnings
The Hakusan Shirakawago White Road is closed from April to June and from November to December. During those dates, the tour will use the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway.
It also passes through mountainous areas. Those prone to carsickness are recommended to bring necessary medication.

The itinerary, order, and arrival times may differ due to unavoidable circumstances or traffic congestion, as expected during Japan’s long holidays.
If there is not enough time, the Fukubeno Otaki Waterfall and Togano Kidai may not be visited.

The tour will use a mid-sized bus or minibus. Space for large baggage is limited. Only one large piece of luggage is allowed per passenger.

Vegetarian options or special menus for those with dietary restrictions are not available.

One child up to five years old may participate free of charge without a seat. If a seat is required, please pay JPY 2,000 on-site. Lunch and the homemade senbei-making experience will not be included.
