— Attraction Info —

Asahiyama Zoo
Asahikawa Zoo, established in 1967 in the northernmost part of Japan, is now a prominent attraction in Hokkaido, housing around 120 animal species across approximately 152,000 square kilometers. Faced with potential closure due to declining visitors, the zoo underwent improvements, transforming into more than a traditional zoo. Visitors can observe animals' living ecology up close through behavioral exhibits. This change drew tourists nationwide, making it a highly popular zoo. Nowadays, foreign tourists contribute to its lively atmosphere. The winter highlight is the penguin walk, a popular show that attracts eager crowds as soon as the park opens. While initially aimed at increasing penguins' exercise and aiding in weight loss, it has become a captivating attraction for visitors.

Shirahige Waterfalls
Experience the vibrant hues of Shirahige Waterfalls, the origin of the Blue Pond. Marvel at its deep pool mirroring the iconic blue shade. Discover one of Japan's rare undercurrent waterfalls. Cruise along the Biei River, also known as the "Blue River," and immerse yourself in the lush greenery of spring and the fiery red leaves of autumn.

Blue Pond Illumination
Immerse yourself in a dreamy world of starry skies, woods, lakes, and falling snow under enchanting night lights. Bundle up in warm clothes to enjoy this romantic adventure.

Patchwork Road
Climb Mild Seven Hills to discover the majestic Seven Stars tree in the larch windbreak. Explore the magical "Ken&Mary Tree," a huge poplar, and the contrasting "Parent-Child Tree." Enjoy the natural wilderness, surrounded by diverse trees, and savor countless unique views from every angle.

Indigo dyeing studio
Dive into the blue world of Biei town, Hokkaido, where Aizome Yuinomori grows beautiful "indigo" on pristine land. In harmony with nature, the studio blends seamlessly into Biei Town's landscape. Take a complete indigo dyeing journey, from cultivation to hands-on experience, and find unique indigo products. Enjoy indigo tea and Hokkaido ingredients at the cafe, surrounded by art and hills. Savor breathtaking views of Mount Biei and Mount Tokachi across vibrant fields.

Takushinkan
Established in 1987, photographer Shinzo Maeda's "Takushinkan" gallery in Biei-cho, Hokkaido, showcases numerous landscape photos for an immersive experience of Biei's beauty. Adjacent to Takushinkan, a 250-meter white birch corridor planted by Maeda allows for a 5-minute circular stroll. Pay attention to "KEEP OUT" signs in the corridor while capturing photos.
