1. Merlion Park (Mermaid and Lion)

Merlion Statue stands on Merlion Park (1 Fullerton Rd, Singapore), a public park that everybody can access. To get there, you can take MRT and drop off at the nearest station, Raffles Place.

Walk along the Singapore River to Fullerton Hotel, and then cross the road to find a building with “One Fullerton” sign. The Merlion Statue is right beside the building.

Merlion Statue is a famous landmark in Singapore that represents a mermaid with a lion head. You can tell that you’ve been to Singapore only after you take a picture with Merlion Statue as the background.

2. Orchard Road

Take the green lane MRT and drop off at City Hall. From there, continue your journey with the red lane and stop at Orchard or Somerset. And you can walk to Orchard Road from there.

3. Marina Bay Sands

Besides Merlion Statue and Esplanade building, another must-see destination is the Marina Bay Sands which is located in Sands 10 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore. Taking pictures with Marina Bay in it would be an authentic proof that you have been to Singapore.

To get there, take MRT and drop off at Promenade or Marina Bay stations. From the stations, you can easily walk to Marina Bay Sands.

Marina Bay Sands is basically a compound of three skyscrapers uniquely connected by a building that looks like a plane. Inside those buildings are thousands of hotel rooms, mall, casino, restaurants, theaters, nightclubs, art galleries, and park.

Inside the complex, there is the longest swimming pool in Singapore which has 150 meters in length and is placed in the heights of 200 meters, giving a 360-degree view of Singapore from the top. To get to the heights of Marina Bay Sands, you will be charged IDR 250.000. At night, there will be a free performance of “Wonderful Light & Water Spectacular” that displays light and laser effects dancing with modern fountains at 8 PM and 9:30 PM Singapore time.

4. Esplanade

Located on 1 Esplanade Dr, Singapore, across of Merlion Park, Esplanade is also known as durian building or Theatres on The Bay. Esplanade is Singapore’s art center and shows.

To get there, you can take the MRT, walk around 10 minutes from City Hall and Esplanade Circle Line Station (Exit D). Next, go through the underpass which connects malls like Citylink, Raffles City, Marina Square, SuntecCity, and MilleniaWalk.

There is not only show and performance building inside the Esplanade, but there is also shopping centers and an open area where they held free entertaining shows. From outside, you can take a picture with Marina Bay Sands and other skyscrapers behind you.

5. Clarke Quay

Clarke Quay area is located on 3 River Valley Rd, Singapore. It is a harbor on Singapore Riverside where you can sit and relax to enjoy the weather. To get here, take MRT on the purple lane and drop off at Clarke Quay MRT Station (NE5).

From the harbor where you sit, you can see old towns of Singapore where old houses and stores still have the old Chinese architecture with colorful buildings. 6. Gardens by The Bay

Another favorite destination to travel is a gigantic park that covers an area of 100 hectares behind Marina Bay Sands, on 18 Marina Gardens Dr, Singapore. This is currently the most comfortable and refreshing place to visit in Singapore.

You can take the MRT on the yellow lane and drop off at Bayfront station to get to Gardens by The Bay. Exit on the Exit B and find Dragonfly area and Kingfisher Lake side of this park.

Here you can find an extensive collection of rare flora inside a massive greenhouse in the form of a dome with shell-like architecture. To get inside this conservatory, you need to pay a S$28 per person for an entrance fee. The park opens from 9 AM to 9 PM, while the outdoor part of the park opens from 5 AM to 2 PM and is free of charge.

7. Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios can be found at 8 Sentosa Gateway, Singapore, Sentosa Island. This is a theme park with Hollywood movies themes. You can get to Universal Studios by taking an MRT to Vivo City Mall and get to Harbour Front Station (NE1). From there, continue the trip by taking The Sentosa Express Monorail and get off at Waterfront Station.

Experience the amusement park and enjoy the meals from the restaurants in the area. There are also stores that sell Universal Studio souvenirs.

This amusement park operated from 10 AM to 7 PM and the entrance ticket costs S$55 for children, S$74 for adults, and S$36 for elderly. But, it opens all day and free of charge if you only want to take a picture with the iconic Universal Studios logo.

8. Chinatown

Chinatown is one of Singapore travel destinations that has oriental design and ornaments. You can reach this destination by taking MRT on the purple and yellow lane, and stop at Chinatown Station (NE4/ER1).

Currently, Chinatown at Pagoda St, Singapore consists of 5 districts which are Telok Ayer, Bukit Pasoh, Tanjong Pagar, Kreta Ayer, and Ann Siang Hill. Just like the name, the majority of the Chinatown is Singaporeans who has Chinese descendants.

9. Museum Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds Museum is sited on 40 Imbiah Rd, Singapore, Pulau Sentosa, Singapore. The wax statue museum displays a modern concept of a museum of wax. You can get here easily, by taking MRT Harbour Front and continue the trip by taking Sentosa Express.

In each of the rooms, there will be wax statues of famous people, and they look exactly alike. You can touch and take pictures with notable people like Barrack Obama, or idols like pop singer and Hollywood stars. The wax statue even has their real voice recorded.

To get inside, you will only need to pay S$35 for adults and S$25 for children per person. Experience a unique sensation of taking pictures with famous people around the world. The museum opens daily between 10 AM to 9 PM.

10. Little India

Little India is a district where the Indian descendants in Singapore live. This place is located not far from Orchard Road on 48 Serangoon Rd, Singapore. To get there, you need to take MRT on the purple or blue lane. Stop at Little India Station (NE7/BT4), or at Farrer Park Station (NE8). You can enjoy the view of Indian daily life and crowds.

In between narrow streets, find some of the Indian traditional markets and buy kachang puteh or jasmine flowers necklace. There are little shops that sell crafts, incense, gold, and Indian fabrics. How interesting it is to see all those spices and flowers scent all around, not to mention the colorful life of Indians.

Take delight in Indian restaurants that serves modern Indian food and snacks like thosai and prata bread. If you are lucky enough, you might come at the right time for Indian festival. The best time to come here is between 9 AM and 11 PM, when the stores and restaurants operate. 

11. Bugis Street

Bugis Street can be found on Pagoda Street, Singapore. It is a shopping area that is placed between a complex of the shopping center, Bugis Junction. The architecture is a unique fusion of Bugis and Chinese. Feel the nostalgic sensation when visiting this place. How to get there? Take MRT on the green or blue lane, and drop off at MRT Station (EW12/BT3).

Indonesian tourist starts to see this place as a travel destination and one of their favorite place to shop. The prices are affordable and the stores have a varied selection of products. This place operates between 11 AM to 10 PM.

12. Henderson Waves Bridge

The beautiful Henderson Waves Bridge is close to Mount Faber Park area on Henderson Road, Southern Ridges, Bukit Merah, Singapore. This bridge lays on the heights of 36 meters above the Henderson Road.

You can get there from Harbour Front MRT Station and exit on the Exit C mall. Continue your trip by taking a 131 or 145 bus from the bus station outside. Stop at the second bus station where the Henderson Road is.

Henderson Waves Bridge is the highest bridge in Singapore and connects Telok Blangah Hill Park with Mount Faber Park for the pedestrians. You can take pictures from the unique and beautiful bridge which extends for 274 meters in length.

This bridge opens 24 hours, with a more stunning view at night. This is one of the travel destinations in Singapore to hang out safely, where you can see the festive city lights and experience the beauty of Singapore.

13.  Art Science Museum

You can find the museum with unique architecture at North Promenade area, outside of The Shoppes Mall at Marina Bay Sands. This museum is located exactly on 6 Bayfront Ave, Singapore. You can get here by taking an MRT and get off at MRT Promenade Station and Marina Bay Station. Then, take a walk on The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands and Helix Bridge.

The building represents a lotus flower that serves to collect rain and distils it into the clean water supply for the city. Standing on 6,000 square meters of land, this museum consists of 21 galleries from various countries and 3 permanent exhibition galleries.

Visit this museum and see the various exhibition, shows, education activities held there. Some of the famous exhibitions that have been held here are Harry Potter, Dinosaurs, and Dreamworks Animation.

The entrance fee costs S$30 for adults, S$27 for senior citizens (over 65 years old), and S$17 for children (2–12 years old). It opens daily from 10 AM to 8 PM.

14. Trick Eye

Trick Eye Museum is a favorite destination for tourist who has an interest in photography. Located on 26 Sentosa Gateway #01-43/44, Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore, this is indeed a great place to take pictures. The 3D paintings look real and will trick your eyes.

To get here, you need to go to Harbour Front Station and take the monorail. Get off at Waterfront Station and follow the street signs behind the SEA Aquarium. The entrance ticket will cost you S$25, and it opens from 10 AM to 9 PM every day.

15.  Singapore Flyer

Located on 43 Siloso Beach Walk, #01-01 Sentosa Island, Singapore Flyer is the biggest carousel after the one in the United States. From above the Singapore Flyer, you will have an amazing view of Marina Bay, Changi Airport, and all around Singapore to Batam.

To get there, take the MRT and drop off at Promenade Station (Circle Line, CC4). Choose the Exit A and walk to the flyer location. You will be in a flying capsule that rotates on a gigantic wheel.

Singapore Flyer has 28 capsules in 4 x 7-meters dimension and can accommodate 28 persons. It takes approximately 30 minutes to rotate full circle on the wheel. The operational hours of Singapore Flyer start from 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM daily.

There are packages if you buy the ticket to Singapore Flyer. The package includes admission to Gallery Journey of Dreams and costs S$33 for adults, S$21 for children. There is also Singapore Sling Flight package that costs S$69 for adults and S$31 for children.

16. Singapore Botanic Garden

This tourist destination in Singapore consists of a massive green park which is located not far from the Orchard Road, on 1 Cluny Rd, Singapore. Botanic Garden is famous for its Tongkat Ali plants and often called as Tongkat Ali of Singapore’s Botanic Garden. Tongkat Ali is a small plant with many benefits for health. To get to this garden, you can jump on an MRT from the Harbour Front Station at Vivo City complex and get off at CC19 Botanic Garden.

As the oldest park in Singapore, Botanic Garden has more than 60,000 species of plants and orchids and is opened for visitors from 5 AM until midnight. There is no ticket needed to get inside unless you want to take a look at their National Orchid Garden which will cost you around S$8 for adults. Have a slow walk, jog, or enjoy the meals at its restaurants.

17. Jurong Bird Park

Located on 2 Jurong Hill, Singapore, Jurong Bird Park is very famous among tourists. It is the biggest big park in Singapore covering an area of more than 20 hectares. This bird park serves as rare bird conservation and has around 800 collections of bird species from around the world.

The nearest MRT station is the Boon Lay Station on the green lane. Take the exit to Boon Lay Bus Interchange and get on bus 194. It only takes 1 station to travel from Boon Lay Bus Interchange to Jurong Bird Park.

There are 2 types of birds show at Jurong Bird Park which are Kings of the Skies and High Flyers Show. High Flyers Show performs cute birds that sing in 3 languages—Mandarin, Indonesian, and English. If you don’t feel like walking, there is monorail to see around and observe the birds.

Jurong Bird Park opens daily from 8:30 AM to 6 PM. It costs S$29 for adults and S$19 for children and includes free tram ride.

18.  East Coast Park

Just like the name, the East Coast Park is located on the East beach of Singapore, right on East Coast Park Service Rd, Singapore. You can visit this place with MRT to Bedok Station. Walk to the Bedok Interchange and continue with 196/197 bus and stop at Marine Parade Road.

Here, you can do some exercises as you rent a bicycle, roller blade, skateboard, and scooter for S$10 – S$12 per hour, equipped with safety gears. You can also do some fishing, picnic, relaxing, or eat along the 15-kilometers beach line. This beach opens for public, 24 hours a day.

19. Singapore Art Museum (SAM)

Located on 71 Bras Basah Rd, Singapore, the museum is popular in Singapore. It is one of the interesting destinations for international tourists. It’s not the only museum, but this place also offers a distinctive exhibition which combines the beauty of art and science. 

This museum has been known as the biggest contemporary museum. You can find around 7.000 collections of art from around the world. Seeing the art from recycled materials would be an experience of a lifetime.

Singapore Art Museum will allow tourists to see around the museum for 45 minutes. It starts from 11 AM to 2 PM Singapore time. The museum opens every day from 10 AM to 5 PM. You can buy the entrance ticket for S$20 for adults.

20. Vivo City

Located on 1 HarbourFront Walk, Singapore, not far from Singapore Cruise Center, Vivo City is the biggest mall in Singapore. To reach this shopping center, you can take North-East Line MRT on the purple lane and drop off at the underground Harbour Front MRT Station.

Being the biggest mall in Singapore, the mall connects directly to Sentosa Island from Sentosa Express Monorail from the 3rd floor.

It opens daily from 10 AM to 10 PM, and you can hang out at this mall, shop, or just see around.

 

21. Mustafa Centre jewelry

Mustafa Center Jewelry can be found on Syed Alwi Rd, Singapore, in Little India area. You can take MRT and get off at the nearest station—Farrer Park MRT, and walk to Mustafa Center.

Find a complete collection of electronic, jewelry, fashion stuff, food, Indian spices, and everyday goods in this shopping center. Mustafa Center is a very crowded mall, and you can find almost everything here.

This is a good place to shop souvenirs with affordable prices because they often offer a discount. Not only the affordable price, but you can also find halal food and beverages here. This place is free to enter, and it opens 24 hours non-stop.

22. Chijmes

Located on 30 Victoria Street, Singapore, Chijmes is a building in neo-classical gothic style with high roofs and tall colored windows. Find this place by taking MRT EW, NS Line from City Hall Station and a 3-minute walk. This historical building used to be a Catholic church. Currently, it is a valuable dining spot that you might need to try. The word CHIJ from CHIJMES is an acronym for Convent of the Holy Jesus.

You can visit this tourist destination at night when the glittering light shines on Chijmes. Café and bar have ranges of delighting menus, and they held a lot of events here. The operating hour start from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The cost will be varied, depending on the café or restaurant you choose.

23. Chinese and Japanese Gardens

Chinese and Japanese Gardens on 1 Chinese Garden Rd, Singapore is situated on two islands in the beautiful Jurong Lake. To get here, you can take the green lane MRT (East West Line) and get off at the Chinese Garden Station. From the station, there is a direct path to the gate of this Chinese Garden. You can reach the garden from the bridge called the Bridge of Double Beauty.

Japanese Garden has the traditional theme of Japanese backyard, while the Chinese Garden represents a royal garden which combines botanical view with bright-colored buildings around.

You can enjoy the beauty of these gardens from 6 AM until 23 PM Singapore time. It doesn’t require an entrance fee to the gardens unless you want to enter the Garden of Abundance, which will cost S$2 for adults and S$1 for children.

24. Singapore Night Safari

Located on 80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore, Singapore Night Safari can be reached by hopping on the MRT to Ang Mo Kio Station (NS16), and then continue the journey with SBS 138 bus.

In this night attraction, you can get into the tram and explore the wildlife of safari night. The adventure will take you from the Himalayan Mountains to the wild Africa. This is the chance to experience an encounter with wild animals like lion, tiger, tapir, and many more!

You would definitely have an unforgettable journey of a lifetime while exploring this safari in 40 minutes and see more than 1.000 animal species from 8 different geographic areas. To enter, the cost for adults is S$32 and S$21 for children. It opens daily from 7:30 PM to 12 AM.

25. Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum

This tourist attraction is located on 288 S Bridge Rd Singapore, in the heart of Chinatown to be precise. To find this place, you can easily take the MRT on the purple and yellow lane and get off at the Chinatown Station (NE4/ER1).

Here, you can find museum and Buddha temple, where the Buddha tooth holy relic stored. The relic of the tooth is stored in a stupa made from 320 kilograms of gold. By looking through the museum and temple, you can learn the culture and the abundance of Buddhist history. This museum opens daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, and you can enter without spending a penny.

26. Helix Bridge: See the Wonderful DNA Bridge at Night

Located near the Marina Bay, Helix Bridge is a great bridge shaping the form of a spiral, and it is better to see at night. If you are taking the MRT, you can get off at the MRT Promenade Station and MRT Marina Bay Station.

Take a walk on this pedestrian bridge to see the beautiful view of Singapore. The Helix Bridge will be most beautiful to see at night, with all the amazing city light.

The length of this Helix Bridge is around 280 meters and connects the center area and South of Marina Bay. This place is open for public for 24 hours.

27. Masjid Sultan

This mosque is located on 3 Muscat Street, Kampung Glam, Singapore. This is the first and the oldest mosque in Singapore. The Masjid Sultan remains an appealing tourist attraction because of its historical value. The place is also always kept clean. 

It is located not far from the MRT Bugis Station. So, to get to the mosque, you only need to exit on the Exit B and walk for around 4 minutes.

Masjid Sultan built in 1826, by the Javanese voyagers who did a business in Singapore. This mosque has a beautiful golden dome and an amazing interior architecture. This is why many people adore this place and choose it as one of their destination in Singapore.

If you are a Muslim, it is recommended to visit this Masjid Sultan to pray anytime and feel the historical sense of the building.

28. St. Andrew’s Cathedral: Christians’ Historical Site

Situated at 11 St Andrew's Road, St. Andrew's Cathedral is a particular attraction as a religious tourist destination. Located near the City Hall Station, you can find this place easily.

This place is very recommended for you who want to see the ancient building of Singapore. This is the first church in Singapore and the biggest one ever built since 1 October 1861.

In 1973, this church was one of the national monuments of Singapore. If you plan to visit this place, don't forget to see the view from the top of its magnificent tower.

You are allowed to see the inside of the church freely. The operational hour of this church is around 9 AM to 5 PM. There is also tour guides available, but with advanced booking.

29. Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island is the main attraction of Singapore. Located on a separated island, this place has everything. Go to its beautiful beach line, or entertain yourself in its shopping malls, entertainment center, restaurant, golf course, casino, and culinary centers.

This island can be accessed by taking the Sentosa Skyride by paying the ticket which costs around IDR 300.000. You can see the beautiful view of Singapore landscape from above heights from this sky ride.

You can also take the Sentosa Express Monorail and continue by bus. But of course, you will mostly miss the beautiful view if you are taking the monorail.

The operating hours may depend on special events held on the island; the entrance ticket also depends on what transportation you take. One of the most recognizable entertainment centers in this island is the Universal Studio, an amusement theme park where you can see all the Hollywood characters in the Hollywood Boulevard from the 70s. This place opens daily from 10 AM to 9 PM. To get inside, the entrance ticket will cost S$74 for adults and S$54 for children.

Being satisfied with the Universal Studio, you can directly go to the Beach View Sentosa and enjoy the performance of Wings of Time. It is a performance of fountains with special effects of laser and fireworks. The show lasts for 20 minutes from Monday to Sunday, at 7:40 PM and 8:40 PM with an entrance ticket of $18.

30. Singapore Zoo

Singapore Zoo is the best choice if you are taking your children with you. They would be excited to see many rare species in this Singapore Zoo. The location of the Singapore Zoo is at Mandai Lake, 80 Mandai Lake Rd, Singapura.

With an area of 30 hectares, the zoo has many collections of animals from Asia, Africa, to the North Pole. Some of the amazing shows in Singapore Zoo are Breakfast with An Orangutan, Rainforest Fights Back, Safari Splash, and Animal Friends shows.

31. Arab Street

The Muslim community in Singapore is centered in Kampung Arab (Arab Street), located on North Bridge Road. Arab Street is a tourist destination and the center of Islamic place to shop things like Al Quran, songkok, and Muslim wear.

You can get there by taking the MRT and get off at Bugis Station. You will recognize the Arab Street with the bright-colored buildings along the street f Kandahar Street, Baghdad, and Bussorah.

Find a big collection of textile products such as chiffon, silk, georgette cotton, and other colorful fabrics along the sidewalks. You can also find perfumes and Arabian carpets and even Indonesian batik here.

Arab Street is a fusion of Malay and Middle Eastern cultures. Take a sip of tarik tea on small café or taste the spicy soft cake called the martabak. This is the easiest place to find halal food, especially the Kampong Glam Café.

Besides shopping, you can also feel the ambiance of Middle East world in this place. The best time to visit this place is when the stores are open or at lunch time. It opens daily for public.

32. Singapore River

Singapore River flows in the center of Singapore and can be one of the best places to hang out at night. This is where the Singapore people gather and also one of the famous places for tourists. To get here, you can take the MRT and get off at the Clarke Quay Station.

Cruise down the beautiful river by using high-tech electric ships which go down smoothly along the river. You can experience the Singapore River Cruise by paying a ticket of around 250,000 IDR. See the view of Boat Quay and Clarke Quay from inside the ship and see around the living Singapore.

33. Raffles Landing Site

Raffles Landing Site is the historical site to remember the story of Sr Stamford Raffles, the founder of Singapore. Here, you can see the replica statue of Raffles, while the real statue is stored in Victoria Concert Hall, 500 meters from the site.

To get there, you can get off at the MRT Raffles Place Station and walk around 4 minutes to the site. The location is close enough to other destinations such as Clark Quay, Masjid Omar Kampong Malaka, Merlion Statue, and Esplanade.

34. Katong: The Heaven of Malay Food and Seafood

Located on East Coast Road and Joo Chiat Road, Katong is the culinary center of Singapore. If you are a food lover, this is the best place to visit. The people living here are middle-class Singapore citizen whose first language is English so that you won't find any language barrier.

To get to this location, take the MRT from the Paya Lebar or Eunos Station. You can take delight in various meals in Katong, from seafood to Malay. Expect to find seafood around the East Coast Road, while the Malay food is on the Geylang Serai.

Singapore Discovery Centre may be the best choice for an educative destination for your kids especially if you want to find a place which is fun and educating. This place is located in Jurong West, near the Jurong Bird Park, 510 Upper Jurong Road Singapore Discovery Centre, Singapore.

You can learn about Singapore history, which is told interestingly with interactive quizzes and paintball.

The admission ticket to the Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC) is varied depending on the area you want to enter. Starting from S$10 for adults and $6 for kids, this price is available only if you want to watch a 2D movie inside.
