By Bus:
From Taichung International Airport, there are direct shuttle buses at the 2nd platform. As an alternative, you can also catch the Nantou bus from Gancheng Bus Station going to Sun Moon Lake.
By Train:
Take the TRA train and alight at Taichung Station. From there, walk towards the Gancheng Station where you can take a bus directly to Sun Moon Lake.
- Visiting Sun Moon Lake is a great idea no matter the season because there's always something to look forward to. During spring, pink cherry blossoms can be seen from the mountains which will be a charming view from your boat ride. On summers, you can watch the fireflies light up the night. It'll be a romantic scene for you and your loved one. Autumn is a very busy season in Sun Moon Lake because that’s when the Cross-Lake Swim Carnival and Biking Challenge Competition occur. In the winter, you can watch the fireworks blaze across the night sky and reflect on the lake during New Year's Eve. It'll be a perfect way to say good-bye to the previous year and a great hello to the new one. But take note that Taiwan's rainy season is from May to September, so plan accordingly.
