Haw Par Villa was built in 1937 by Aw Boon Haw, founder of the famous medicinal ointment, Tiger Balm. Formerly known as Tiger Balm Villa, this unique theme park has over 1,000 colorful statues depicting Chinese folklore such as Legend of the White Snake and Journey to the West. The park's top attraction, Ten Courts of Hell is a bizarre diorama portraying the stages of hell based on a mix of Chinese mythology and Buddhism.
