1. Takabisha (Fuji-Q Highland)

A steel roller coaster that is famous for having a drop angle of 121 degree- that is formerly known as the steepest coaster in the world before being replaced by TMNT Shellraiser at American Dream in New Jersey is located at Fuji-Q Highland amusement park in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan. It first opened to the public in 2011, with a height of 97 feet, with length of 2,380 feet, and a top speed of 62 miles per hour. The rollercoaster has 7 different upside down turns, such as the famous 121 degree drop, 97 degree drop, a zero-g roll, a corkscrew, a barrel roll, and a boomerang.

Takabisha roller coaster has been praised for its unique design and intense thrills making it winning several awards including the Golden Ticket Award for Best New Roller Coaster in 2012.

2. Steel Dragon 2000 (Nagashima Spa Land)

Another marvelous roller coaster which held the title as the world’s longest coaster for over 10 years before being surpassed by Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure in 2005. Even though that title has been taken away from Steel Dragon 2000, it still has another title as the longest giga coaster in the world, which is a roller coaster that have the height between 300 to 399 feet tall in total for a full circuit.

Steel Dragon 2000 located in Nagashima Spa Land amusement park in Kuwana, Mie prefecture. It is named after the year from when it debuted in the year 2000, which was the year of the dragon in the far east. This epic rollercoaster will take you to a thrilling journey with plenty of drops, airtime moments, and a top speed reaching 95 mph.

3. Acrobat (Nagashima Spa Land)

Another roller coaster housed by Nagashima Spa Land amusement park in Kuwana debuted in 2015 and is actually a clone to the successful B&M flying roller coaster Manta in SeaWorld Orlando, Florida. The unique part about this rollercoaster is in order to ride this exciting ride you will need to be positioned face-down in rows of four, giving the sensation of soaring through the air like a superhero. The coaster features four iconic turns from a pretzel loop, an inline twist, a corkscrew, and another inline twist. Besides getting those adrenaline kicks in your blood, you can also enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding park.

4. Eejanaika (Fuji-Q Highland)

This one-of-a-kind 4th dimension roller coaster is famous for its unique feature of having seats that can rotate 360 degrees forward or backward while the coaster navigates the course. Located in Fuji-Q amusement park in Yamanashi Prefecture, Eejanaika roller coaster holds the record for having the most rotations on roller coaster rides, with a total of 14 rotations throughout the rides.

Eejanaika is named after the meaning of “Isn’t it great?’ ir “How cool is that?” means after the impression and the thrilling experience you got after riding these extreme rides. Eejanaika has also won several awards such as the Golden Ticket Award for Best New Roller Coaster in 2007.

5. Flying Dinosaur (Universal Studios Japan)

As the name says, This unique roller coaster will bring you the joy and the thrill of being carried by Pteranodon on the air. Instead of sitting upright like on those normal roller coasters, in Flying Dinosaur roller coaster, you will be strapped into a position where you need to face-down. Being placed in the Jurassic Park Area of Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, it will give those ancient worlds full of dinosaurs surrounding you while having a ride full of intense drops, tight turns, near-misses with structures and several other upside down experiences. 6. Slight of the Hippogriff (Universal Studio Japan)

A family-friendly rollercoaster that you can get in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area of Universal Studio Japan, Osaka. A Harry Potter-themed roller coaster will bring you that excitement from having a high ground look throughout the Wizarding world of Harry Potter from taking turns past Hagrid’s hut and winds through that pumpkin patch like those scenes you’ve seen in the movies. 7. Gauntlet The Duel (Tokyo Joypolis)

An interactive roller coaster at Tokyo Joypolis amusement park in Minato, Tokyo has opened since 2013. Gauntlet the Dues, as the name says, is a place where you can compete against each other, which is perfect if you bring friends or family to this park. It is another exceptional roller coaster with high-level creativity where it combines the excitement of riding a roller coaster while having competitive shooting games where the rider will be needed to shoot their laser guns throughout the rides. Besides being a themed roller coaster, it also has its own story lines in which the rider will act as the knight on a quest to defeat an evil magician and rescue the princess from the evil witch’s grip.

8. Bandit (Yomiuriland)

Bandit was once built in 1988 by the TOGO company and once held the record as the fastest roller coaster in the world during that year, reaching the speeds of 68 mph, but a year later it lost its record to another ride named Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point. This roller coaster has a unique inverted layout where the riders will be hanging below the track instead of sitting on top of it which allows the riders to get a more intense and free-flying experience as its move in loops, corkscrews and other upside down experience.
