A Traveloka Glossary

You’ve taken the plunge and downloaded the Traveloka App. Congratulations! Get ready to open your travel horizons even wider than before.

More than likely, it’s your first time on both site and app, so it’s understandable if some of the terms we use may prove to be a little confusing. Don’t worry! We’ve put together a handy glossary that will help you navigate Traveloka and make your experience with us even more hassle-free!

1. Honest Price

HONEST

Prices on both the site and the app are the prices that you'll have to pay.

Have you experienced booking a flight or a hotel room because of the supposedly low price advertised, only to find out that lots of hidden fees actually drive the price up to much higher than you expected? With Traveloka, this isn’t going to be something you’ll have to worry about. Prices on both site and app are the final prices you’ll have to pay. If there are any changes, it will be because you’ve applied our promo codes that will drive those prices down even further.

2. Traveloka Member Deal

VIP

The Traveloka Member Deals get you rates and fares up to 30% lower.

We strive to get you the best possible deals, which is why our prices do not have any hidden fees. But did you know you can get prices up to 30% lower with Traveloka Member Deals? Simply register on the site or on the app to get hotel room rates up to 30% lower. You can also get exclusive discounts via email!

3. Special Rates

SPECIAL-RATES

Special Rates are deals arranged with hotels or airlines exclusively for Traveloka.

These rates are available to all, whether you’re a Traveloka member or not. There’s no set amount or parameter for this, but it’s a deal offered exclusively by Traveloka. You can be sure that those rates are some of the best there is. You can even drive them down even further by using our promo codes!

4. Price Alerts

NOTIFICATION

With Price Alerts, you can be sure that you'll know when the flight within your budget arrives.

Looking for flight rates with a specific budget in mind, but not seeing it on the available flights? You can actually use the Traveloka App’s Price Alerts function to notify you when a rate that fits your budget pops up. Simply put in your departure airport, your destination, preferred date and time for departure and return flights (if round-trip), and how much you’re willing to spend. You can choose to get a push notification, an email, or both when a flight pops up that fits your budget or is even cheaper.

5. Currency Abbreviations

PHILIPPINE-PESO

Each currency has a different abbreviation on Traveloka.

Traveloka started out in Jakarta, Indonesia. Over the years, it has expanded to five other Southeast Asian countries: Malaysia, the Philippines, SIngapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Obviously, different countries have different currencies, and they have different abbreviations on the site. The Indonesian Rupiah is abbreviated to Rp. The Malaysian Ringgit is abbreviated to RM. The Philippine Peso is abbreviated to PHP. The Thai Baht is abbreviated to THB. Finally, the Vietnamese Dong is abbreviated to VND.

6. My Cards

CREDIT-CARD

Traveloka's My Cards feature ensures you won't need to input your credit card details again and again.

If you’re paying by credit card, Traveloka is going to ask you to fill in your credit card details. If you use Traveloka often enough, it’s going to get tiring filling out those details again and again. My Cards relieves you of this burden. Once you’re registered to My Cards, there won’t be a need to fill in your credit card details repeatedly.

7. My Booking

MY-BOOKING

With Traveloka, your flight e-tickets and hotel vouchers are kep in My Booking.

Once you’ve completed either a flight or hotel booking on Traveloka, your hotel vouchers or your flight e-tickets are emailed to you. But if you forget to print both of them and can’t access your email on your phone without a wi-fi connection, there’s no need to panic. Located in the Traveloka App, My Booking is where all your flight and hotel bookings are stored, and can be accessed even if you’re offline.

8. Booking Period

CALENDAR

The booking period is the time period where you book your flight or hotel room.

If you’ve used any of our promo codes, you’ll see that the bottom of each of the promo pages talk about the booking period where the codes are available. If there’s any confusion as to what this means, it’s simple: The booking period is the time period where you book your flight or hotel room. In the case of promo codes, the codes are only applicable if applied within the specified booking period.

Hopefully, with these terms defined and explained, you’ll have an easier time moving around on Traveloka’s site and on the Traveloka App.
