The 10-day dry run will only be open to Aklan residents in order to test the newly-repaired sewage system. While the island will officially open to tourists on October 26, the government is planning to limit the number of visitors to a mere 6,405 per day. Before its closure, the island welcomed a total of over 553,000 visitors during the first quarter of 2018. On top of the ongoing road repairs and cleanups, the government also plans to replace the existing tricycles with electric trikes. In hopes of further improving the environment, the main road will include a pedestrian and bike lane. Ready for the official reopening of Boracay?
