With the recent declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao, both Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific have released new passenger guidelines. Both guidelines include options available to passengers who already have tickets booked for Mindanao.

The guidelines put out by Philippine Airlines (PAL) allow passengers to rebook, reroute, or totally refund tickets bought for trips to and from Mindanao without any penalties. However, this is only applicable to flights between May 24 to June 30, 2017. The guidelines also specify the cities covered by the rebook, reroute, or refund offer.

Here is the complete text of the PAL announcement:

“In view of the declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao effective May 23, 2017, PAL passengers holding tickets with confirmed bookings dated May 24 – July 30, 2017 to the Region (Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Dipolog, Davao, General Santos, Ozamiz, Surigao and Zamboanga) may avail of any of the following options:

1.
Rebook their tickets without penalties within 90days from original flight date or within ticket validity period. Reboooking shall be allowed on restricted / non- restricted tickets. Paid seats (Choice Economy and Forward Economy Seats) and pre-paid baggage may be rebooked/ re-associated to the passenger's new flight date. Change fees/rebooking penalties shall be waived.
2.
Reroute on restricted/non-restricted tickets without penalties; additional fares and taxes may be assessed, as necessary
3.
Refund tickets without penalties

For flight rebooking / rerouting / refunding, affected passengers may call PAL Hotline (02) 855 – 8888, visit the nearest PAL ticketing officer or partner travel agent.”

Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific is asking passengers to “allot sufficient travel” to get to the airport as the heightened security measures may lengthen their travel and wait time. Passengers can also rebook their tickets for free within 30 days. However, this will only cover trips within the May 25 – 31, 2017 period.

Cebu Pacific also advised customers to contact their hotline number, +632 7020-888, for any concerns.
