Ketapang or its other name Tau-pang is the capital of Ketapang Regency in West Kalimantan of the Borneo Island in Indonesia. It is only a small river located on the delta of the Pawan River. This city got its name from a tree which is the Terminalia catappa. This city is known for their simple lifestyle where the people would fish for food and farm.
The best time to fly to Ketapang would be between July 23rd to August 12th. The city of Ketapang does not see that many changes in their weather throughout the year. It usually is hot all year round with occasional rainfall. May, June and April, however, happens to be the warmest month. Therefore, it might not be the best time to visit the city. The month of November sees the most rain in the year. Months other than the warmest or has the most rain would be a suitable time to visit the city. Since there is ample time to visit, the cost of the hotel and attractions does not spike up that much.
Ninoy Aquino International Airport – Ninoy Aquino International Airport is an airport that serves the city of Manilla as well as the surrounding cities. Many know the airport NAIA. The airport is located on the border between the city of Pasay and Parañaque. The city centre of Manilla is located around 7 kilometres away from the airport. It is of the same distance from Makati city as well. The airlines that operate in this airport is AirAsia Philippines, Cebgo, Cebu Pacific, PAL Express, and Philippine Airlines. NAIA has four terminals and it also has many shops and eateries for the passengers to enjoy while waiting for their flight to depart. Besides that, the airport is connected to the city with several types of transportation to ease the passengers to go in and out of the airport.
Rahadi Usman Airport – Rahadi Usman Airport (KTG) or the Ketapang Airport is the only airport available in Ketapang, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. The airport got its name from one of their local freedom fighter, Rahadi Usman. This airport only accommodates domestic flights with destinations such as Pangkalan Bun, Pontianak, Semarang and Nanga Pinoh. Some of the airlines that operate here are Wings Air, Garuda Indonesia, Sui Air and several more. There are not many facilities available at this airport as it is rather small. Still, they do have a flight information counter, ATMs and also waiting for the area for the passengers and families. Those who wish to get into the city may opt for the taxi or bike ride called 'ojek’ waiting outside the airport.
Ketapang has a tropical climate pattern. The temperature is rather stagnant throughout the year. Although the city is hot and humid all year round, they still receive a significant amount of rain. It is found that even during the dry month, there is still rain.
