Airlines may change flight routes due to various reasons; bad weather, natural disaster, operational reasons, etc. Route changes can take several forms: departure changes, arrival changes, and the addition of transit stops.
A departure change occurs when your flight’s departure location is altered—typically to a nearby city or airport from the original location. An arrival change refers to a change in your flight’s final destination airport.
As for added transit stops, this usually happens on flights that were initially direct. A stopover/transit is added before continuing to the original destination.
So, what should you do when the airline changes the route?
When a route change affects your flight, Traveloka will send you a notification as soon as possible through your e-ticket, email, SMS, and other available communication channels.
The notification will include details of the change. Please note that your flight schedule may also be affected due to the route change. If the new changes don't work for you, alternative solutions such as a refund or reschedule will be provided for you to choose.
