A first-class municipality in the province of Isabela, Roxas is the business center of Isabela’s Mallig Plains Region – comprised of Mallig, Roxas, Quezon, San Manuel, Aurora, Quirino, and Burgos municipalities – and is a productive agricultural hub. In fact, locals refer to Roxas as the “Pinakbet Bowl of the North” due to its large-scale production of vegetables. Those familiar with the song Bahay Kubo will most likely find all the vegetables mentioned in the lyrics in Roxas. Rice, corn and root crops also grow abundantly in the area.
The Kalingas were the first to settle in Roxas, followed by the Ilocanos; their language is widely spoken in the area. In July 1948, President Elpidio Quirino named the municipality once known as Barrio Vira after his predecessor Manuel Roxas.
The fastest and most convenient way to get to Roxas is by air. You can fly to Roxas, Isabela via Cauayan.
Victory Liner and Five Star have buses traveling to and from Isabela province. Travel time from Manila is approximately 8 to 9 hours. There are also bus lines traveling to Isabela from the northern provinces such as Baguio.

Right across the stately Roxas Municipal Hall is Roxas Freedom Park; it is the focal point of the area.

If you have more time to spare, bring the whole family to Lado Del Rio Resort; relax in one of the cabanas while watching the kids have a blast in the swimming pool.

Fun fact: Roxas is the only non-city in Isabela that has its own Jollibee. The others are in the cities of Santiago and Cauayan. Meanwhile, Kumpares at Roxas Isabela serves chicken and pork barbecue and hearty beef pares.
Night-time pursuits are few and far between in laid-back Roxas. Grab dinner and catch a late night movie at Xentro Mall before calling it a day.
