We've just returned home from Cape Verde and this little B&B was just fine. I can see why it might not be for everyone but it had all we needed and couldn't have asked for nicer hosts. We were the only guests for the majority of the week and so it was quiet but I imagine it would be on the noisy side when full.
The rooms are basic, there's no air conditioning but at this time of year (April) it's not really needed. Breakfast is simple and could do with some variety. It'll be a long time before I can face yoghurt again...
I would say it's more for the younger traveller rather than holidaymakers. However it's very relaxed and comfortable enough.
You get to see Cape Verde life from your balcony. There's a gorgeous restaurant a 3 minute walk away which serves the most amazing tuna steak ever! Very much an undiscovered gem.
Cape Verde is all about no stress and this place definitely lived up to that ethos.

Simon and Sara were amazing hosts, always with a smile they were happy to dish out advice of what to do and what to see as well as restaurant recommendations.
Sakaroule is a gorgeously bright and quirky shaped building, so easy to find! 3 min walk from the beach and into Santa Maria where there are plenty of places to eat and drink.
The room was lovely and cool with our own balcony and our ensuite was really clean with a great shower.
We wish we were coming back asap! Thank you Simon and Sara for a wonderful stay

I think I may have built my hopes up too much as a result of the glowing reviews on expedia and tripadvisor. The hosts were friendly and obliging to a point and.....that's about it. Average breakfast. Poor room with very small windows that was impossible to naturally ventilate so we had to rely on a fan that sort of kept us cool but not really. Stupid spring loaded door between the ensuite and the bedroom that hit me in the head twice. Why would you fit spring loaded door hinges?!?! No private outside space with the room. OK communal roof terrace but it wasn't lit so wasn't that nice to use. The ground floor gardens and dining area were quite nice. But the surroundings of the B&B were rough and ready to say the least. All in all I am sorry to say I was disappointed with Sakaroule.

Lieu très propre, avec un petit déjeuner très copieux tous les matins. L'hôtel est situé dans le côté local de Santa Maria et offre un accès à pleins de restaurants locaux.

Le logement est bien situé.
Il y a vraiment tout à côté des restaurants, des commerces, il y a le marché municipal pas loin.
La résidence est propre nettoyage 7/7. Un très bon petit déjeuner continental.
Le personnel est très pro, sympa à l'écoute et disponible.
L'hôte est géniale, souriante polyglotte ce qui est pratique pour nous francophone 😂 . Elle a partagé tous les bons plans de l'île ce qui facilite drôlement le séjour (où manger bien pour pas cher, les excursions à faire, les bonnes glaces, ...)
La décoration de résidence est magnifique.

Haustür offen, Rezeption nur morgens und abends besetzt. Laute Nachbarschaft, authentisch, es gab keinen Sicherheits- Vorfall, aber wir hätten und mit Rezeption oder verschlossener Tür sicherer gefühlt

The B&B is actually pretty cosy and looks nice. Manu, the chap that serves breakfast, works behind the bar and takes care of the bookings is very polite and helpful. The area (where the hotel is based) is not the best, but the locals are polite. It does get a little noisy during the night though. Breatfast is served between 7.30 and 9.30am. Wifi is free, but during my stay, switched off around 9.30pm until 6am. The watertank of the toilet had to be turned on and off manually, as it kept flooding the toilet otherwise. The main issue I have had is that the bedsheet had a fairly large stain when I arrived and due to that I noticed that the bedsheets weren't changed at all during my stay. The same counts for the towels, which I find a ittle odd given the fact that Cabo Verde is pretty hot. So overall a nice place to stay, but should change the towels and bedsheets. Due to the just mentioned reasons, it's a place I could imagine visiting again, but would look elsewhere first.

Super waren die Besitzer. Immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Raum 08 hatte eine Küche, dass war besonders toll und gab uns die Möglichkeit etwas selbst zu kochen. Zu verbessern ist der WIFI Empfang, leider ist es als Urlauber die Möglichkeit mit der Außenwelt zu kommunizieren. Vllt zweiten Router verbauen und zickzack, Problem gelöst. (Das ist aber jammern auf 130% Niveau)
Ich komme wieder, es war so schön in Santa Maria und das B&B hat genau den Sufervibe den wir suchten und mögen. Klasse!!
